R1, G5: sens @ Maple Leafs - Apr. 29th, 7:00pm - SN, Fan 590

They are having a lot of problems tonight. Other than the usual issues of being too cute with the puck and not shooting, they also can't seem to take passes cleanly. This has been a frustrating game to watch. Get it on net.

When your superstar best player is not able to get it done, the whole team is behind the 8-ball. It's really a shame that Matthews isn't anywhere close to his best. He's so talented that he still makes lots of plays, and he can look dangerous, and credit to him for his defense. But the magic that brought you to the edge of your seat every time he got the puck with a bit of time and space? Gone.

Man I disagree Bieksa...I don't see a control team here at all. There aren't complaining but they aren't playing in control

It's incredible / not incredible how closely to the script this follows all other years where they have a chance to win. Can't score when it counts, PP disappears, just downright embarrassing. If they top themselves and lose this series after being up 3-0 will ANYONE still think they should run back the core again??

I don’t buy how hurt he is. Again he was in beast mode to end the season and was even throwing his body around. I don’t make excuses for these guys. It’s the same thing come playoff time. I’ve been saying it for years they aren’t cutout for it and this isn’t even against a tough team.,

Both things might be true. He may have re-aggravated whatever is lingering, and he may be a choke artist.

Good players find a way to elevate their game when down. These guys don’t seem to do it when they are in the drivers seat and I’m not just talking this year. I don’t know if they can’t deal with the pressure or what. The PP in overtime in game 4 I thought was brutal and almost like they were nervous and that I think is the thing they need to overcome if they even can. I have my doubts.

I don't agree. At no time this year has he taken over a game with his offense. He's missing the net all the damn time.

I would also disagree that he's not giving it his (diminished) best in this series. He has points in every game. It's not a lack of effort.

Fumbling pucks, missing shots, deferring to others...he's definitely been off all season. He has become more of a set-up guy but the shot threat is mostly gone.
