R1, G6: sens vs. Maple Leafs - May 1st, 7:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

Then maybe he should use them. Robertson has been credited with more hits in 2 games than Patches was in 3....and Robertson wasn't atrocious defensively like Paccioretty.
Pacioretty is a bit like Reaves in one respect - he's just slow enough to not be able to make full use of that size and strength. Can't get to guys in time often enough. Of course Reaves is another level of slow but same idea.

Nah. While Patches' play has dropped off, he's still miles ahead of Reaves.

Reaves was an effective player against Boston last year in the playoffs. I'd argue more effective than Patches has been this year.

Now watch Patches score a key goal tonight. :D

Last year, sure, but, he was also more effective during the season last year than he was this year. He was actually a pretty decent 4th liner in the back half of 23/24. This year, he was completely unplayable. Age and injuries have made him completely ineffective. A lot of that is true of Patches, too, but he hasn't fallen quite as far as Reaves (largely because he has farther to fall). All he really needs to do on that line in take the body and try to get some open looks (his shot is still pretty good). He doesn't have to do the heavy lifting. I don't love him there, but, he's not wasting a lineup spot as much as having Reaves dressed would be.

Neither should be in the lineup, obviously.
