R1G2: Leafs @ Bruins - May 4th, 7:00pm - CBC, Fan 590

You can't be unhappy about the period.  After getting blasted the first 3 minutes, they didn't fold.

I can't comprehend how Frattin was a health scratch.  He is a good hockey player, not one that should even be considered for a healthy scratch with players like Orr and McLaren on the team.

And to be fair, I actually will give credit that Orr has been pretty solid tonight.  He's thrown good hits tonight.

Multiple impact plays tonight by Frattin.

Starting to hate Carlyle with the way he treats some of the younger guys. Frattin and Gardiner are a big part of the future of this team and have shown what they are capable of. Instead we have them riding the pine most nights. Unbelievable.

He has played kadri and kostka alot for rookies.  Its all in how they play.

I wouldn't classify either of those 2 as rookies. Kadri has been up and down and a very high 1st round pick who was expected to be here and probably sooner. Kostka is a 27 year old who has toiled around the minors and never made it and as far as I'm concerned probably shouldn't be here. Way too many mistakes. I understand Frattin and Gardiner being inconsistent but they are young and playing them is only going to make them better players. Furthermore the way the team has been horrible as far as generating much offence those 2 have shown to be very good in that department.

Anybody else realize Kessel is struggling big time against the Bruins?

Thanks Healy.

Can we just get over it and move on to something else.  >:(

he has as many points as grabbo.  They are just making a mountain out of a mole hill about kessel and the bruins.

I haven't been paying attention to the thread.  Has anyone commented on what a problem it is going to be if/when a game goes to OT and we cant afford to play Orr?

He is no longer needed (never was, but that's another story).  Play Maccarthur.

I don't have a problem with Colton playing especially against the Bruins but having both McLaren and him in at the same time and for a good portion of the year don't think it was necessary.

Healy just credited Carlyle for putting Gardiner in the line-up. Thank goodness he didn't do it during the game, I have to turn the TV off for a bit.

There is a long list of success with players turned GM's though.  Oh wait

Nieu and Yzer both worked in the front office before they took GM roles.  Its not that Sakic couldn't be a GM, but I haven't heard him doing any front office duties yet.  So to hire him as the head guy sounds to me like a move destined for failure.

Joe Dumars became a GM after playing for the Pistons and went on to win an NBA title.  Sakic is also named Joe.  Could be something there.

I would like 4 or 5 insurance goals in the third period please

Kessel explodes for 3 in the first 2 minutes of the 3rd? I could handle that.

But that would screw up Healy's shooting percentages. And we know he couldn't figure out how to recalculate it without taking his socks off.

I don't think Sakic would take that role.  I think head of player personel would be more his style.

It depends, if they can get the whole group Sakic-Billington-Roy-Foote together, he may feel comfortable surrounded by the guys he knows very well.
