It's definitely been a little worse at times lately, but it's basically the ying to the yang that is 4f and 1d umbrella powerplays.
Tyler Dellow wrote a good piece for the Athletic recently that showed statistically you still come out ahead.
Hard to complain too much when it's the top unit in the league too.

I was thinking the same thing, but, I don't see it happening. Shorter term, sure, but, unless he falls off dramatically next season, he'll still get $5M+ no problem - probably $6.5M+. He'd have to really really really want to be a Leaf to sign for the kind of deal we want.

It's more a question of term than dollars I think. If it's a one year or two year deal then with the Leafs cap situation being what it is, it's really hard to see a situation where it backfires.
