Rangers @ Leafs - Jan. 19th, 7:30pm - TSN4, Fan 590

I watched that polak play 3 times and still not sure if it could be called a penalty, despite Ferraro's reaction. He more stands his ground than anything.

I'm all for the rebuild but you telling me management can't improve this defence without sacrificing too much? Even with Reilly in the lineup it's not that great. I know we are winning and the rebuild is ahead of schedule but what is management thinking? Continue to ride it out and see what happens? What till closer to the deadline and see where we are at? Team can score I'm sure it will dry out but we suck defensively and as a team. So do we improve the D or try and get this team to play a tighter game. I think we have a good shot at the playoffs but it's going to be an early exit the way this team plays. Maybe management is okay with that.

Yep.  And listening to O'Neil talk about forwards picking up defensive responsibilities is kind of funny.

It takes 2 teams to make a trade.  You can't force another team to trade you their good players that your team needs.

Lou will make a hockey trade, if and when, he has a trading partner to work with.  Until then, we just have to ride it out.

That Leafs PP looked awful.  A lot of lazy passes trying to feed the puck through traffic.  Figures Grabner scores a breakaway against the Leafs.

Not that Grabner was a do-or-die player for the Leafs but I'm pretty sure they had 2.1M they could have given to Grabner instead of certain player who has put up 5 points.

F'n whole night has been disgraceful. Couldn't make a bloody pass if their live depended on it. Kadri on the power play there with nonchalant passes. Horrible. Hate to be the ones who paid to watch this live. Goodnight everyone.

This is easily one of the worst efforts from the team.  Poor play.  Lazy passes and watching Hunwick post a lovely -3.  Seriously I don't understand Babcock's fascination with him.

They've been overdue a game like this, I'm sure a lot will be made of it because it was the first game without Mo, but I'll give them a pass as long as it doesn't become a trend.

I'm guessing we're all about to develop a deep appreciation for Morgan Rielly and his solid but unspectacular ways.

His first pass and ability to settle down the game are sorely underrated.  Agreed.

Point taken, but remember too though how often Grabner *didn't* finish for us last year.
