Ranking Prospects 2021-2022

His stats are certainly a little underwhelming but he was the leading scorer on a pretty good NCAA team. He was also named a 2021-22 All-Big Ten Second Team selection alongside Knies and Brendan Brisson, the 29th overall pick in 2020. Not gonna pretend to be a NCAA hockey expert but that's gotta be worth something.

He scored 1 more goal then Knies did albeit in 6 more games. Scored 16 of the team's 84 total goals for the year. The four players behind him in scoring on the team, were all drafted. Obviously this kid caught someone's eye when they were probably watching Knies and company. Leafs like him or they wouldn't waste a contract on him.

And, worst case scenario, he plays out his contract in the ECHL and the team lets him go. There's little to no downside to this, even if there's limited upside.
 
This seems roughly equivalent to burning a 6th round pick on an overager which is nothing to get worked up about in either direction.

I love Leafs summer articles and the clutching for timely relevance that comes with it.
This one, however, starts off with a kitschy gimmick that is actually a good meta analysis of both the prospects (per the title) and the act of generating content for sad people in need of hope with boilerplate effort.

So to spin off that prompt (Dubas' end of season quote about graduating some Marlies, in place of UFA-ing the bottom 6), who should the Leafs take really long looks at, and who will ultimately rise and grind?

S-Tier: Go immediately to Matthews' wing and profit
