Could you imagine having paid 200+ dollars a seat to watch this game?

It's essentially costing me not a dime, and I can't even imagine why I'm watching it.

These guys don't give a damn and as much as people might not want to accept it that's going to have serious ramifications for the club going forward regardless of whether or not those guys are kept or if they're dealt.

How so?

Because if you keep them this toxic atmosphere will remain and if you try to deal them this is something that teams are going to see and not like and will probably affect the offers the Leafs get for the players they want to trade.

Ahh. Makes sense. Which do you think is better for the club in the long run?

I think it depends on the player but I think it'll be out of their hands to some extent. Right now I'd have a very hard time imagining a team putting an offer in on Lupul for instance.

Gardiner also got owned on that classic.

That's just Gardiner being Gardiner. I expect better from Phaneuf.

Gardiner hasn't gotten any better defensively, and I think we're at the point where we can't expect anything more.

Gardiner has actually gotten worse, and he was never very good to begin with.

How can players of Kessel, JVR and Lupul's calibre look so awful against an AHL team. Seriously.

They can go on about how they're "trying" all they want, but either they're lying or they have become terrible, useless players in the span of a couple months.

I can't believe how little they've done in the last 2 months.

If the Marlies weren't fighting for a playoff spot, I wonder if they'd have benched the high priced vets by now?

There was talk earlier about the Sabres buying out Hodgson.  If he was available to sign next season, given how thin the Leafs are at center, do you sign him?  He's from Toronto so he might be willing to come here.  I think he would be worthwhile on a short show-me deal.

Short term deal - absolutely.  No reason not to when rebuilding.
