sens @ Leafs - Feb. 15th, 7:00pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

Well, at least it wasn't game 7.

Seriously though I'm starting to think there may be something flawed with the makeup of this team.

There are many issues, but 5 more years of an $11 million Tavares might turn out to be the real albatross, especially if the cap doesn't go up.

Always nice to be reminded the Leafs are still the Leafs.

Whatever. Onto the next one.

Yeah, after  47 years cheering for this team I actually had hope for them this year.

I don't have confidence in them anymore.  I will enjoy the season but I have zero expectations that they will make it to the Final 4 let alone win a series.

It sucks not being able to be excited for your favaourite team's chances after almost 5 decades.

If Marner had scored on that last chance it would have been an instant contender for goal of the year, those were some ridiculous handles.

Obviously a bad collapse, some glaring giveaways and mistakes leading to goals, but it's still only one game.

Yeah, it's kind of weird where this game really shook my expectations of the Leafs though.  It feels like we will never have a solid team, just one that can entertain us fans on occasions.

Same, seen the same thing year after year for decades now. Every once in a while you get hope like in 93 or the early 2000s but ultimately it's failure after failure and you never truly believe they can win anything meaningful.

Yeah not passing here was a choice.

Eh, goalie out of position like that I get the instinct to want to get it on net. Matthews would have been shooting into traffic too. Sure on balance I'd rather rely on Matthews' accuracy there but that's eye in the sky stuff.

Hard to grasp how good they are due to the season with Covid and all. I personally don't think the North is strong so hard to say how good we rank. I'll say it again and I'm sure I'll get roasted for it but team is too easy to play against. Strike no fear into the opposition physically and defensively. See how the next few months go but if it's status quo come end of season Dubas along with a few others need to go.

Yeah, I figure the odds of Matthews getting it past only Chabot into the empty net were higher than Rielly getting it past 3 Ottawa skaters and a goalie trying to get up.

Oh well.  Getting 1 point out a possible 2 shouldn't feel this horrible I expect.

And at the end of the day, the Leafs lost 1 point. It's hockey, stuff happens move on to the next.

Like to see you reiterate those words if by chance we miss the playoffs by a point. You're absolutely right it's hockey and we can't change any of it but c'mon man. We just lost to the worst team in the league after being up 5-1.

Sure it should. 5-1 lead essentially at the end of the second period against arguably the worst team in the league, and lose it in OT. That just should not happen. It's a warning about the makeup of this team and what will happen in the playoffs against really good teams.

Reilly's decision making at times at both ends of the ice leaves you scratching your head.

Easy on your choice of words Chris you might offend some people on here.

If Rielly makes the pass then Dadanov is still in the net and the goalie has a half second to dive back too. Again, probably easier for Matthews but I get the impulse.
