THE 2016 NHL DRAFT-DAY THREAD

Still no d or g, surprised a bit.

A lot of scouts were saying the goaltenders in this year's draft aren't great. Not super surprised they didn't go with one after missing out on the top 3 - and taking one at 31 would probably have been a reach. I think they'll take a less polished one later in the draft and hope he's a diamond in the rough.

An interesting note from twitter, all three picks so far played pro against adults this season.

Seems like they're looking for guys who can jump into 3rd and 4th line roles relatively quickly. Guys that are 2 years away instead of 4 or 5.

Although you wonder how much of that is because none of the goalies are big.

Must be some trades coming for some D. I mean, I guess there are other options, but I'm a little surprised why they didn't target at least one defenseman in the 2nd round.

I don't mind that actually.

kristen_shilton: At No. 62, the #Leafs take Joseph Woll from USDP. 17 year old with good size (6'3"). Committed to Boston College for next season #NHLDraft

Getting some high praise by the talking heads covering the draft, so, that's fun.
