The Marlies In Context - A Playoff Primer

Keefe sticking with the struggling Arcobello powerplay unit over the Nylander unit.  Not sure I understand the logic behind this one.

It's only the 1st 10 minutes but this looks like a completely different series.  The Marlies have dominated possession and Hershey doesn't look to be nearly as clutch-and-grab/elbows and hits from behind prone.

The next two rounds really should be a cakewalk compared to the Albany series.

edit: with Bibeau being the obvious x-factor

Yeah this game really has a different feel to it. I think skill and special teams will win the day in this series.

Lost 3-1 huh. You can look for gifs of the goals here: https://twitter.com/TLNdc. The game winner was awful, and the insurance was scored by Zach freaking Sill. I don't know if Sparks is better or not but that's 3 games in a row now where Bibeau has looked like a liability.

1-0 Marlies in the first. They look like a different team tonight.

EDIT: After getting only 20 shots in game 1, the Marlies are outshooting Hershey 13-1 so far in the first period.

Someone needs to take Arcobello away from Keefe so he can stop using their ineffective PP unit for 2/3 of each PP.

Crazy how much better the Marlies look than Hershey but Hershey have scored on pretty much 2 of 3 chances

I really thought they would play a better brand of hockey once they got past Albany. These teams are just finding a way to stifle the Marlies offence. They need to break through in a big way next game or this run is going to be over sooner than any of us hoped.

I don't think the offense was stifled at all. I think Peters stood on his head all game and made some incredible saves. The Marlies played more than well enough to win.

Lines for game 3 tonight:

Leivo-Arcobello-Brown
Kapanen-Nylander-Hyman
Leipsic-Carrick-C.Smith
Clune-B.Smith-Soshnikov

Campbell-Valiev
Percy-Carrick
Brennan-Holl

Bibeau
