The Official Complaint Thread!

Immediately after I take a shower I can't use my touch screen device well because my fingers don't slide against the surface. Probably something to do with natural oils in your skin.

Oh the trials and tribulations of poor Odin.... LOL.

My complaint is with Condo Toronto. I got stuck 3:00 pm coming out of Sick Kids today.
I'm sure many of you have been in this crap.
The thing that Pee's me off the most is the incredible horrible access routes in and off the Gardiner.
I take University and it's a pain going in, and out.
Anyone ever try getting onto Spadina from Front St? Freaking nightmare.
Meanwhile pedestrians, trucks, bad light timings.

The City of Toronto should adopt Hamilton's method.

Move the traffic synchro the lights and get the cars moving. No red/Green/Red B.S

Arghhhhh i almost ate my streeing wheel today.
Rant over.
Beer me.

We went to 3 different stores tonight to find a Halloween costume for my 10 year old daughter. After much looking around she has the choice of being one of the following this year...

a) skank pirate
b) skank nurse
c) skank vampire
d) general purpose skank (or possibly the lil' porn princess - I couldn't tell)

I would hate to see what the children of these costume designers are like (see the what is wrong with humanity thread)

this was one of the reasons I made my own costumes for my kids. Luckily enough, the daughter was a figure skater, so I could usually recycle some of those costumes for Hallowe'en. But I recall the conversation, age 11, when she wanted to be Queen Amidala for Hallowe'en. Told there was no way I was sewing up anything that elaborate, she decided to head to the costume store with her allowance. And came home empty-handed.
"All they have for girls is 'slut princesses' and 'hosebag witches'. Can I be Qui-Gon? Is that doable?"  She and her little brother were QuiGon and ObiWan that year, and the biggest expense was the ten bucks each for lightsabres, which they used to play Star Wars with thereafter anyway. Win!

Sounds like a smart kid, Lil'.  I commend you on your parenting.
+1

My daughter also wanted nothing to do with the costumes - she said she'd either recycly something, or stay home and hand out candy. I'm sure we'll come up with something fun for her though.

On a related note and not at all a complaint - One of my kids want to simply safety pin empty Smarties boxes to her pants. Smartie pants!  :D

That's awesome!

My daughter is the same.  I bought her a pirate costume last year that by itself was a little "slutty" but she wore leggings underneath and a long sleeved shirt under the bodice thing.  All her idea.

This year, she wants to go as a crayon or an Angry Bird!

Cool... My other kid I think wants to be a lady-bug zombie... Where do they get this stuff?

My daughter wants to go as a bag of jelly beans.

A clear garbage bag around her body, filled with small, coloured balloons!

wow! That's creative!
LHF stamp of approval! tell her how smart and creative I think she is!

And further to the Hallowe'en costumes: I made a polar bear costume (surprise) for my son several years ago. He woulda been about 7 or 8 at the time I suppose. His older sister wanted me to make a Leaf sweater for it, so he could go as a Game Day Bear. My son was adamantly against this idea though. He was and is a RedWings fan. I also made all four Teletubbies one year (son was 3 or 4 and a fan at the time) and the four of us went out together.

I cracked my left hand at work yesterday - literally. I've been calling it my "Tom Cruise Tropic Thunder" hand since. Painkillers may be involved.
