Ontario is funding 300 electric car charging stations? At best these things take 40 minutes to charge a car to 80% and have a range of 300km? So if your on a road trip, you better be able to find one of these stations and if there is someone already there your waiting 80 minutes to charge your car? Does this make any sense at all? I would never venture more then 100km from home in one of these things. This all seems incredibly dumb to me, for this to work there basically needs to be one of these super chargers at every parking spot on the planet. The infrastructure is no where near ready for a large influx of these cars. I need a car that will cover some distance when I need it to and I couldn't imagine waiting 40 minutes to charge my car on a road trip assuming no one is ahead of me in line. Let's just say you pull into a Onroute and the charging station is open, you plug your car in and go for lunch/dinner. Someone pulls up when your inside, your car is fully charged and your still inside eating and someones waiting! I don't know how this is going to work? I think this will be a complete disaster until technology can produce a 5 minute charge and charging stations are readily available. WTF
