Biyombo to the Magic for 4 years 70 million. 17.5M per year.  The Raptors got Valanciunas on a 4-year 64 million dollar extension earlier in the year.

There are also reports of him being offered 18-20 million.  That puts him out of the Raptors reach.    He would be a great short-term fit at PF.

Yeah, it's not super realistic but fun to think about.

It'll be interesting to see if Durant takes the same sort of criticism James did.

Stephen A Smith also seems to think this is even worse than what LeBron did:

Yeah, but fans are always going to be upset when a player leaves as a UFA. I'm specifically more talking about the way people essentially called James a coward for wanting to win with a superteam rather than try to be the big dog on a not very good team.

Yeah I updated with another Deadspin post with a take from everyone's favourite ESPN analyst.

Smith is probably mad that another player who he had assured us was going to the Lakers went elsewhere.

You know, I'm sure all the math works out and everything but it still really bugs me that the cap works out so that the Warriors can somehow do this, the Spurs can add Gasol and the Thunder apparently had hopes of signing Durant and Horford but somehow the Raps can't really do anything. I guess the Carroll/Ross deals are why but still. Somehow this has been another off-season of the rich getting richer

Golden State had 80M committed (plus cap holds).  The Raptors had 70M plus cap holds.  Yeah, it's pretty bush league.  I don't like the way the league forces cap holds/bird rights to allow for stacked teams.

Man, that small ball line-up of Curry, Thompson, Iguodala, Durant and Green will be something to watch.

Then of course there's the subtext. Does Durant signing indicate he may have talked to Westbrook and concluded their partnership wasn't going to last past the year anyway? Is Russ going to be a Laker next year?

Still crazy to think the Thunder had Durant, Westbrook, Harden and Ibaka and couldn't figure out a way to win a title.

Rumours going around that Duncan is going to retire.  He looked done in the postseason but it would have been nice for him to get a bit of a sendoff.

There are also rumors that Wade is meeting with the Cavaliers now.  The NBA is really a joke.

May I ask why you think that? Having 'superteams' is what makes the NBA so fascinating. Ratings have never been higher. The fans love having these stacked teams compete against each other.

What is the NHL's biggest problem attracting new fans? I would argue it is parity. The teams are all interchangeable every year. There is no superteam to cheer for (or against). Parity hurts, not benefits, the league. The NBA knows its biggest product is its superstars and they make sure they are always featured in the playoffs and finals every year.

Crazy off-season just gets crazier. Dwyane Wade now going to join the Bulls who, to clear cap space for him, trade Calderon to LA and Mike Dunleavy to Cavs.

Don't worry though. The Raps have a new back-up C.
