The Official TV Thread

I was talking about the movie, not the TV series. Okay, so you're old enough to remember Ted Danson with his OWN hair then. Cool.

Vaguely, yes. I was alive before Cheers premiered.

Caught the initiation of Bates Motel, Vikings and Hannibal.

I'm a little in love with the theme to Vikings, and it's well, about vikings. Bates Motel is pretty good so far and Hannibal's premiere was decent, if unexpectedly dark for prime, looking forward to more.

They didn't just use "Immigrant Song"?

Cool as that would have been, no, it's If I Had A Heart by Fever Ray.

I'm so happy because I'm so interested in the Viking culture and history.

Myself as well..I've always been fascinated by the Viking culture

I've always enjoyed Farley Mowat and yes I have read it.
I actually went back last year and took out Lost in the Barrens just so I could reread it. I loved that book when I was a kid.

Didn't skip back in the thread but anyone watching The Following? Kevin Bacon is pretty good but the premise has really dragged itself down since the first few episodes....the cult try to kill someone/FBI intervene but blow it by letting everyone escape*/the cult live to kill another day.

*even if the writers actually have the characters "pinned down", only useless cult members get shot (kind of like the red-clad Star Trek cast members) and the key members escape out the back door.

They just treat the FBI as complete and useless fools, and as I say whenever the do do something that any police force would do, suddenly half the cops are cult members and let people escape.

Aggravating.

GAME OF THRONES!

I waited until today to watch the first 4 episodes of this season. It took a couple of minutes in the beginning trying to remember who was who but I still enjoyed the hell out of it.

The ending of episode 4 had me wishing I had episodes 5,6 and 7 ready to go.

Anybody watch the "30 in 30" series on ESPN? Any particular highlights? They all just came up on a site I visit. I grabbed the Gretzky and Jordan ones.

I have. I don't know if the Gretzky one is all that good for someone who knows the particular already(that the trade was a big deal in Canada, for instance). I think the best ones in the series are "No Crossover: The Trial of Allen Iverson", "The Two Escobars" and "Winning Time".

Thanks, I'll check those one out too.

I've seen bits and pieces of the Gretzky one as well already, so I'm not expecting much from it. The Iverson one caught my eye too as I had no idea that happened to him.

I've seen 9.79, the one on the 1988 Olympic 100m dash with Ben Johnson and Carl Lewis. I enjoyed that one.

I grabbed the full series as well a couple years ago. Enjoy. They are all great and informative documentaries.
