Of course!

Shoot me your email and I'll send you a Timmy's gift card.  ;)

If only I was a coffee drinker . . . I'll let you off with a warning, this time.

You are too kind!  ;D

Back on topic, everyone still loving Better Call Saul?

Perhaps it's because I have prior investment in the characters, but it's right up there with Breaking Bad for me.

It's weird, I absolutely loved Breaking Bad, like everyone else of course. But I just haven't had even the slightly desire to watched BCS yet. I'm sure that once I do dive in I'll love it, but I don't know I have all the episodes I just haven't put one on yet. Just too much great TV out there right now, it's really a problem haha. At this point I'll just wait until the season finishes I think.

Yeah I'm still loving it.  It's different enough to stand on it's own but it's got enough of the same touches from the cinematography/filming perspective as Breaking Bad to be of that same series.

I was a little worried at first that Better Call Saul was going to be crap.  These spin off type shows have a high probability of being crap.

So far every episode has been great.

I think it's been really enjoyable but I wouldn't put it up there with Breaking Bad just yet. The thing that's...troubling is probably the wrong word but at least noteworthy is that I think the show has been at it's strongest when fleshing out the backstories of characters we're already invested in because of BB(the Mike episode in particular). I don't know how firm it is on standing on it's own two feet yet or how successful it's been in making me care about new characters like Jimmy's brother or girlfriend.

Also, Bob Odenkirk has been terrific but he's also in his 50's and looks it. Would it really shatter that 4th wall to cast another actor for the scenes where Jimmy is supposed to be in his 20's?

Funny you mention that. The show I decided to start instead of BSC was Empire. They're having the exact same problem when they do flashbacks with Terrence Howard. They seem to think that putting a bandana or hat on somebody de-ages them 20 years.

The thing that sort of emphasizes it on Better Call Saul is that it's already supposed to be a prequel to Breaking Bad so we're already supposed to be buying him as being in his late 30's or thereabouts but then they cut to even further back and it's a little jarring. Especially because Bob Odenkirk was on Mr. Show 20 years ago so I know what he looked like at that age.

I tried watching Breaking Bad, but only made it a few episodes before I was bored out of my mind.

I felt the same way, but I stuck with it and I'm glad I did. It took a little while to pick up, but, that helped it a lot. It really built the characters and got you to invest in them. It's a character drama, and they tend to be a little slower.

I haven't really watched Better Call Saul, though. I tried the first episode, and I realized that I really didn't care about how the character became who he was in Breaking Bad. He wasn't a character I felt invested in.

I'm about half way through the first season of Fargo, loving it so far. Martin Freeman is excellent.

Back to BCS, that's my major issue with it too Nik, it always takes you out of the story a little because you can't help but acknowledge there is no way he is believable as a 20 something. With that being said, I think it's been great so far, especially the Mike episode, Banks deserves and Emmy for that.

And I knew it was slow to get going, since someone else mentioned it before in this thread.  However, with Netflix, there are just too many other options to sit through the boredom until it gets better.

Saul has been fantastic. I agree with Patrick, I think it could reach BB levels. And I'm curious to see what started Jimmy's brother's physchosis, and how that transpires too.

I think I'm just done with weekly serial programming to be honest.  Based on the amount of time I spend on here it probably seems like I don't do anything but I really just don't have the ability to commit to sitting down and watching a show on a weekly basis.  I do a lot of my show watching/posting when I'm also doing my multiple hours of nightly paperwork and sometimes the slow trickle of a show is enough to make me choose other options.  I liked the first few episodes of Better Call Saul but they are also about character development and those early episodes often lag in good seasons.

I think I'm just going to wait for the whole season to come out and pseudo binge watch it.

Anyone see the latest episode of 30 for 30 "I hate Christian Laettner" yet?
Nope but when it comes to Netflix I am sure I will. Still trying to shake the sleep off from the "Of Miracles and Men" probably the worst 30 for 30 I have watched.

Really?  I enjoyed that one.  Certainly gave me a new perspective of some of the oft-repeated myths surrounding the 72 Summit Series from a Canadian perspective.

There is no denying there was some interesting info in the doc. I particularly liked the the part showing Lake Placid's garbage athlete's village that is now a prison. Overall though I found the presentation very dry, Daniels a very monotone narrator and just unbalanced its mix.

My personal favourite 30 for 30s are: Pony Express, Fab Five, Elway to Marino and Big Shot.

My own 30 for 30 favourites are Guru of Go (Loyola Marymount) which was on last night, The 16th Man (Rugby World Cup in South Africa), and Once Brothers (break up of Yugoslavia and its impact on the friendship of Vlade Divac and Drazen Petrovic).

I really liked The Two Escobars, Winning Time, June 17th 1994 and whatever the one was about the Holmes/Ali fight.

Trevor Noah has been picked to take over the Daily Show when Jon Stewart leaves later this year. Bit of an unexpected pick as he's only had 3 appearances on the show so far. He hosted a Late Night talk show in Africa, so he's got a bit of experience there. To be honest outside of John Oliver I probably wouldn't have been super excited about any pick to replace Jon, but at least I don't dislike this one so that's a good start.

He became fairly popular in the UK quite a few years ago, I enjoy his stand-up. I am sure they like his crossover appeal, they can market him to an urban audience and as he talks about in his stand-up he's the type of black guy that is accessible to racists. ;)

Part-way through episode 5 of The Jinx.

Man, he's creepy.  Enjoying the series, even knowing the spoiler.

Glad you're enjoying it.

On the advice of a few people I know who enjoyed "Serial" and "The Jinx" I've started watching a show called "The Staircase".

I am only two episodes in, but already it's compelling viewing, those who enjoyed the aforementioned will likely enjoy it.
