Why would you use US dollars?  Why not use the pound.  That was something else

Americans not knowing anything about countries that aren?t America (and, even when it is, it?s iffy)? Shocking.

Ric Mercer did a genius show years back when George W was a presidential candidate.  Was asking Americans in America,  questions to prominent people such as politicians and university professors, etc.

Questions, like "What do you think about the American bombing of Saskatchewan"?.    Or "would you like to congratulate Canada on the construction of their newly built ice parliament buildings".

Ric asked George W. to pass on his regards to the newly elected Prime Minister, Jean Poutine (Chretien)  Bush actually said "I would like to congratulate Prime Minister Poutine on his victory". Only America's leading trading partner.  These guys actually have access to the Football.  God forbid.

The real problem is Americans don't even know their own history, which is even more scary.

I know this isn't strictly non hockey chat, but it's not REALLY about the hockey as such.

I took my 3 year old to his first hockey game last night. He enjoyed himself.

But the highlight was definitely when he immediately said "there's 4 bad guys on the ice". After some quizzing we worked out that the 4 bad guys were the 2 referees and 2 linesmen.

We believe he considered them bad guys because of the black and white striped outfits that looked a bit like prison outfits that you see in cartoons.

But really, it's nice to know that he's genetically programmed to be a proper sports fan with an inbuilt dislike of officials  ;D

Awww, that's adorable, Arn.

Installed Windows 11 on a non-compliant laptop last night. Everything working fine. It's nice and all, but pretty underwhelming.

Slightly more modern UI. Settings are better arranged and more phone/tablet-like. I like some of the aesthetic upgrades, particularly in the file explorer. Good integration with OneDrive and Teams (two things I already use extensively, so it wasn't much of a change for me.)

I find the hubbub over the location of the icons on the taskbar hilarious for two reasons: 1. it's fine and there's barely any difference, and 2. You can simply move it back to the left if you want in the settings.

The only thing non-compliant was my CPU, which is a 7th gen I5 rather than an 8th gen. We'll see if MS follows through on their threat of not allowing updates (I doubt it)

My desktop doesn't have TPM and only a 3rd gen I5, but it runs like a champ and just everything has been replaced over time. I'm considering installing W11 on it, assuming I can get a TPM module. Does anyone know how I can check that?

edit: found the answer. surprisingly my 8 year old MB has a TPM port. Don't think I'll bother. Fine if my home laptop has issues, but should probably wait until kinks are sorted out before upgrading my work computer.

With everything that?s going on with the world and the imminent demise of civilized society, why is it that the thing that sends me over the edge is gender reveals?
