Is it bothersome because it really is a sex reveal?

Installed Windows 11 on a non-compliant laptop last night. Everything working fine. It's nice and all, but pretty underwhelming.

Slightly more modern UI. Settings are better arranged and more phone/tablet-like. I like some of the aesthetic upgrades, particularly in the file explorer. Good integration with OneDrive and Teams (two things I already use extensively, so it wasn't much of a change for me.)

I find the hubbub over the location of the icons on the taskbar hilarious for two reasons: 1. it's fine and there's barely any difference, and 2. You can simply move it back to the left if you want in the settings.

The only thing non-compliant was my CPU, which is a 7th gen I5 rather than an 8th gen. We'll see if MS follows through on their threat of not allowing updates (I doubt it)

My desktop doesn't have TPM and only a 3rd gen I5, but it runs like a champ and just everything has been replaced over time. I'm considering installing W11 on it, assuming I can get a TPM module. Does anyone know how I can check that?

Yeah I installed it on my gaming laptop and it is pretty meh.  I do like WSLg though.

The Conservatives having attack ads already.

Their one against the NDP highlights that they are against the 413 highway.  That highway is a colossal waste.  Anyone against that gets bonus points in my book

Oh look there?s the Liberal attack ads too.

I just got a dad win. I had a bunch of toys and stuffies I was going to donate to a 2nd hand store.

Screw that; I put out bins on my sidewalk and kids are grabbing them up like crazy for Halloween. One little girl squealed she was so happy. She didn't even care about the candy, she just wanted that stuffed snake. lol

I've seen them from all 3 parties. It's the only reason I know there's an election coming.

Oh wait, it's not for 6 months.

So far I've seen a bunch of Conservative ads and a few NDP ads. Still nothing from the Liberals but I've heard they're out there.

The Conservative ads strike me as pretty poorly considered though. Instead of going after the NDP and the idea of an NDP government bringing financial ruin they're making it mainly about Horwath herself. Which is weird because she's such a non-entity. Even in my downtown communist enclave I don't know anyone voting NDP provincially because they're so supercharged about leadership. Mainly she's already seen as someone who managed to lose an election to Rob Ford's less charismatic brother.

Am I the only one that remembers a time when politicians didn't do attack ads? I feel like I'm watching Veep.

The first election I really remember is the '93 Federal election which had the whole thing with the photo of Chretien ads that they said were mocking his appearance so...

I'm not too political savvy, so I'm just going to assume the Province announcing a $15/h minimum wage is purely coincidental, ya?

Hi friends. I just opened an Instagram account to post some of my drawings. I'm just a hobbyist artist, but maybe you might enjoy?

Yeah man. I especially dig the wildlife.

Thanks. I've got a planned series of canines that I'm going to do on large wood panels (fox, coyote, and wolf.) It'll be an interesting challenge, but should be fun.

Just coming to the end of a 5 night, 6 day visit to Montreal. My first sort of ?post? pandemic travel trip. It has been wonderful. The city is really lovely; the old city in particular. The actual ?French-ness? was a bit of a shock actually at first. I knew French was the language and of course the history but I didn?t really realise it was going to be quite AS French. That was definitely my naivety.

I did catch a Canadiens game in the Bell Centre and it was a great game, despite them winning. I saw a Duchene hat trick and a line brawl so those are going to remain my take away from that to forget the result!

I almost ended up trying to accidentally vote in a Chilean presidential election yesterday.

The people have been, in the main, wonderful and helpful. My prior experiences in Canada (my three trips to Toronto) meant that this was not a surprise.

We?ve done some touristy stuff. Some of it has been great, some less so. But that?s the deal with these things. The highlight was probably our visit to the Norte Dame basilica for a light show which was one of the most immense things I?ve ever seen. My three year old sat for 20 minutes with his jaw literally dropped open.

He also said tonight ?can we stay?? So I think that?s the ultimate seal of approval.

Flying home tomorrow with a few hour stop in Toronto Pearson airport where I hope to find some Leafs gear

I'm glad you enjoyed yourself Arn but I hope you understand that constitutionally we are unable to say anything nice about Montreal and I suspect you may have been tricked into thinking it's a good place with fine people.

Haha yup, I understand that even more so now having been here ;D Even I felt a bit dirty going into the Bell Centre

Looking forward to my decontamination in Pearson later today!
