lol - you sir are the classiest man here.  ;]

Just being brutally honest... Seriously, outside a McMuffin (no egg) or hash brown, I just can't eat the stuff. It gives me the Barry Trotz.

You mean the Darren Puppas ;)

And I for one am a sucker for McDonalds.

haha!... No, not the Puppas, that would imply something solid  :o... Ferret, so I take it any of my photo finish stories are out of the question then?  :P

My monitor!!! Please!!

I lost my dog 18 months ago and haven't gotten over it... I said I'd never get another dog but that lasted only a couple of months. I don't think I could manage without one.

that was the same with us. Our first dog was a sudden loss, and we waited about six weeks before getting another. When the second one was failing, we knew it was gonna have to be soon, and finally took him in, both the kids came in (he was 'their' dog growing up) to say good bye that morning. By noon, they were both begging us to get another dog, like NOW.  'The family isn't complete without a dog.'  Miko joined us the following weekend.

Really sucks when they leave us doesn't it?  :'(

I know what you mean but I was pretty heartbroken at the time and didn't know if I could or would, still haven't. Funny thing happened, a 'friend' ( you'll see ) came over a couple months after and said he knew someone who had some kittens and were looking for homes, I said I wasn't really into it and he said that's ok she'll probably just drown them anyways... of course I was horrified by that but figured he was just messing with me. He showed up with this little beauty a week or so later and it set my world a little more right... she doesn't like dogs a whole lot so I've given in to both her wishes and my doubts, for now...

wow, what a beautiful dog!

Yeah, he was a beauty, you can see the look in his eye in that photo too, full of trouble and too smart for his own good.

This is probably my favourite photo I have of him, it's a little more ominous...

It's weird Floyd, I like cats but I'm way more of a dog person. Getting to know her has been really rewarding, surprisingly.

I have a little chunk of land, 5 acres and mouses do their best to get in every year, she's been a godsend that way, she's a great mouser. Funny, I think I may have told this story OTOS but one moment I will never forget was the day she was sleeping while a mouse was drinking out of her water bowl, didn't have a camera for that one but I just about fell off my chair. Bravest mouse evah! ( or thirstiest...)

Well now my daddy taught me how to walk quiet and how to make my peace with the past
I learned real good to tighten up inside and I don't say nothing unless I'm asked

When my wife and I moved in together, we got a boy and a girl kitten (siblings.) At that time I loved cats. The boy just pissed everywhere, aggravated the dog, and killed the furniture. Eventually, I demanded he go and since we my wife didn't want to split them, they both went to Grandmas. I still kind of miss the girl and might (BIG MIGHT) consider another female one day but hell will freeze over before I get another male.

I'm way more used to female cats as well though in my youth we had two male cats ( brothers ), one that slept with our german shepherd bizarrely enough ( though by day they were like Ralph and Sam... ) and they were most excellent felines. I hear what you're saying though, years later we took in a stray male that decided everything had to smell like him and that was terrible. I probably would have put up a fuss if my buddy had brought a male...

Grandmas are awesome! :)

Very cute Tigger and sorry about your dog.  It's hard losing a pet.

We lost our Boxer Leesha several years ago to cancer.  We adopted her when she was 6 from Boxer Rescue and had her 3 wonderful too short years.  We got a new Boxer last November (after about 5 yrs) and Bella was beautiful and we loved her but my gosh, she was just so much work.  With 3 kids, rep hockey and everything else, we just didn't have the time to devote to her.  Now, we would have kept her and did the best that we could but hubby's brother who lives 5 mins from us, said that he would take her.  So, she has the best of both worlds.  She gets to go camping, hiking, long runs and we still get to see her every week and she's turned into such a beautiful, happy and sweet dog.

Losing him was real hard AG, at the time it was obvious but it's amazing how much they can become a part of your life, I still feel the loss today.

Great story about your brother in law taking the Boxer, life has a funny old way of working out sometimes. :)
