I went to hang a clock last night and when putting the dry wall anchor into the wall, it just made a hole, I used a screw driver and not a drill, would this be the reason for the hole and the anchor coming loose right away?
 
What type of anchor did you use? If it's a typical plastic anchor that plugs into the hole, you made the hole too big. It should tell you on the package what size drill bit to use for the anchor.

Also, did you use the screw that came with the anchor?
 
I didn't say The Bears. I was (maybe not so obviously) simply referring to the cuddliest, most special, awesomest (almost human really) mammals on this planet.

Odd question... and sorry to sound like "Sheldon" here but the social convention when going to someones home for dinner is to bring wine as most people enjoy it (as do I.) Something I haven't done before is bring a spirit that I really enjoy (with the hope that others also might) instead. 

Too risky?

Part of the reason wine is the convention is that it's often used at the meal, but, I mean, depending on how well you know the hosts . . .
 
I was thinking of something that would go nicely with most desserts but again, I'm not sure if that would be viewed as somewhat (for want of better word) imposing?

I don't know the hosts that well (wife's boss, his wife, and other guests.)

My suggestion would be to stick to something more conventional then.

I would agree with this. You can always bring the other drink along as well and bring it up in conversation before bringing it out. Of course, this depends entirely on whether you have both bottles that you'd like to share - not everyone wants to go out and buy a couple bottles for a dinner party. :)
