Utah HC @ Maple Leafs - Nov. 24th, 7:00pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

If the Leafs were healthy and ran with Woll, they would have beat them.
They probably don't go down 3-1 with Woll in net at least but for me the way the team is playing seems more likely to hold on to the lead in Game 7. Maybe the playoff monkey rears its head but they seem to have fewer let downs in effort once they got their legs going on the season.

They probably win with just running with Woll.

100%.

First..... we have Stolarz. So Woll or no Woll the GA would be different.

Second, and more important, I agree that under Berube Leafs would probably not go down 3 to 1.

For example tonight.... after that first period it would normally be a signal in prior seasons that Leafs were going to play down to their opponent and lose another easy one. Because they had a tendency to dial it in sometimes.

But I never felt that tonight and actually never in the past 10 games. They look so different.

Maybe it's also Matthews being gone too.... but I'm staying positive and crediting Chief.

The best interview Nylander gave was when he was standing next to baby Nylander and Will is shirtless while his brother is wearing a sweater.

If ever there’s been a more obvious contrast shown in “puck luck” than this game.

Robertson gets great chances and rings the post from about 5 feet.

Marner blindly throws a puck from behind the net out in front and the goalie somehow kicks it onto his own net with a random part of his leg.

And also Nick going down the wing, ripping one and unfortunately, off the post. He had another good game though. I'm just hoping he can pot one soon and get going.

A couple of inches a couple of times from a totally different complexion to his season
Been a tough start for him scoring wise for sure. He's cleaned up a lot of his game from early last year. He leads the Leafs in penalties drawn and also has the least amount of giveaways/60 on the team. He's 7th in Takeaway/60. His 4.6 S% isnt helping lol.

I pull for anyone wearing a Leafs jersey.
Having said that, I've always had reservations with Roberson because of his size and prior years of him not seemingly making/adding many impressive dimensions to his game beyond his shot and offense.
I hold nothing against him for his position on his contract this summer. With Robertson's style, Berube's system is tougher for him.
But he sucked it up and had a solid preseason to unquestionably earn his spot on this roster.
He has been snake bit.
But I have to say this in his defense:
I think he is a better player this season. He has improved his two-way game.
He is more competitive in puck battles. He's stealing a few more pucks.
He's backchecking to his own goal line. His intensity and effort has been there.
Some rotten luck but a very credible effort that made him a better player than last year - regardless of the stats.
I don't know how it is going to turn out. Odds are probably against him.
But I have to credit him with that. I respect his efforts. I hope he gets rewarded.

Very well stated. I think Berube also sees this and that's why he keeps playing him.
I'm like you, I want every player to do well.
