What's Holland's contract status? Wondering how long the Leafs will be stuck with that plug.

He's an RFA after this season.

I wouldn't call him a plug at all. He's got decent numbers for third line production and is very versatile. I'd keep him around as a useful player.

Holland is no plug, he is a pretty Large, good skater with good hands and he works very hard. Shows flashes of brilliance from time to time. I would like to see where he goes in the next year with his consistency

Gardiner had a really good game.

For fun, here are some of his 'advanced' stats from 2013-16 compared to Drew Doughty: http://public.tableau.com/shared/7DC59RN3K?:display_count=yes

I only picked Doughty because Steve Simmons has been going on about him being the best player in the league the last 3 seasons.  Also, I continue to love those visual tables.

Oh my stars and Gardiners.

Gardiner got a bit of a bad rap in the Carlyle days for boneheaded plays. I'm convinced he 'failed the eye test' simply because the team structure at the time usually left him exposed to having to make on the fly decisions while trying to protect himself as he went back for the puck at the boards. With the new structure where players are assigned to be at useful locations in certain situations (and then actually be there), we're going to see Gardiner continue to shine.

So.... are we just going to use this thread for the Ottawa game tonight...?

I'm sure the guy just woke up recently after a long night and is considering starting it soon-ish ;)

I kind of figured.  You do a fine job, and I recommend doubling your pay.

We are in a budget crisis.  Unfortunately we have to dock CtB's pay 20%.
