Abramov got hit with a 1 game suspension for his slew foot against the Swedes. That will hurt the team because he has played really well for them.

Yup. I didn't think much of the call myself when it happened. Oh well.
 
For a team that's supposed to value creativity the Russian team is taking a crap load of low percentage point shots.
 
A lot closer than it probably should've been. Askarov imo looking overrated. Russia doesn't have a ton of finish.

Askarov hasn't been great as a whole in the WJC. Terrible handling the puck.

He loses his stick like twice a game.
 
The Red wings got a steal drafting Viro in 3rd round.  He reminds me a lot of Anton Stralman with even more upside and speed. He skates as well as Drysdale.

I know you cant draw conclusions watching one tournament, but I dont see as bright a future for Hirvonen. He looks ok, but as an undersized playmaking winger you would want him to have a little more breakaway speed.
