I have a bottle of Dom Perignon that I am putting on ice!

I'm downing a cautiously optimistic bottle of wine in wild anticipation that my Christmas wish will be arrive early!

As I was trying to catch a TSN update, I dropped an unopened can of beer on my hardwood floor. I will now cautiously and optimistically open it.

YES! - Though I'm still leaving my seatbelt on as the aircraft has not come to a complete stop at the gate.

I wouldn't take that one as any indication that an agreement is near, just that the owners want something significantly longer than what's been offered so far.

EDIT: Especially in light of this:

Real_ESPNLeBrun: Warm and fuzzy feelings from last night are gone. Things are tense heading into tonight's meeting. Pivotal session that will tell the tale

Well, glad loose baggage didn't fall on my head.

Edit: I was also more just charged about the term.

Am I missing something? Things seem pretty optimistic in here but I can't find much on news sites that indicate much in the way of progress was made outside of two new proposals.

Why would tonight be pivotal?  That's just silly.  If the talks break down they'll be back at it in a few days.

If you are really itching to be tickled in those underbritches, sometimes a soft breeze will tickle ya just right

I'm not so sure. If these talks break down, we could very well be looking at things like the season being cancelled, PA decertifying/disclaiming interest and the league suspending operations until they have a union to negotiate with all happening in short order. We're getting awfully close to D-Day on this season and the PA have already publicly brought up the nuclear option . . .

ByKevinAllen: Podium is being set up. Someone must have something to say about what is happening here at the negotiations.

SiriusXMNHL: NHL's offer reportedly is for 10 years..NHLPA has been adamant to stick around 5 years

SiriusXMNHL: Both sides now in different rooms. No word if meetings will continue @SiriusXMNHL

SiriusXMNHL: The one good thing to take from this..It seems like the two sides are starting to bargain and negotiate. Hence, all back and forth #cbatalks

SiriusXMNHL: As per @TGfireandice , no one is going anywhere..Sounds like a good sign. Negotiations continue between the @NHL and the @NHLPA

SiriusXMNHL: Approaching 11 PM EST.. the two sides are not together right now. That being said, talks have not broke off for the night.

I believe they didn't cancel the last time until Jan 11.  There's still at least 2 weeks left for posturing, minimum.  :P :-\

It was the middle of February in 05.

It was right around this point last time where the PA offered 24% contract rollback. League smelled blood and thought they could get something favourable done. Don't see the PA making similar offer this time, so I don't think the league will wait as long. If this set of negotiations break down, I think the season will be cancel sooner rather than later.

Really?  It was that late?  That's crazy.  ....  Oh yeah, I think the Jan date was when they settled the first one -- yes?

Anyway, Busta, of course you could be right.  But I just doubt that tonight is pivotal.  LeBrun was purveying LeHype there IMO.
