2021 Marlies Thread

Artist's rendition of Curtis Douglas's game winning goal. As you can see, he is giant.

I?m watching the game (from on AHL TV). Robertson and Ho-Sang have definitely got something going on. Unbelievable hands from JHS for his first goal (though he got a LOT of time and space). And he?s just scored his second with a huge shot on the PP.

3-1 after 2. Marlies look strong going forward

Dang! All three plays were great: Semyonov's pass, Robertson's pass, and the goal.
That's going to be a fun line to watch.

You can see it better in the initial tweet: Ho-Sang starts this play by forcing a turnover at the blueline to free up the puck for Semyonov, and then books it to the OZ to establish the man advantage.

Ho-Sang not playing today and Robertson left the game in the 2nd period with an injury and won't be back today. Let's hope it isn't serious. Marlies getting smoked 4-0 late in the 2nd period.

This was his previous knee injury last season: https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/maple-leafs-place-nick-robertson-long-term-injured-reserve/

The current knee injury is a similar situation where there was a hit along the boards and the fall was very awkward as his skate got caught and he fell backward over it. I don't know that I'd call it injury prone, but there were Marlies' injuries also from wear and tear and coming back too hard too fast (as is his wont) from earlier minor injuries. This isn't Carlo Coliacovo boneitis, but I do think some guidance on strengthening critical support structures, improving soft tissue flexibility, and hit absorption techniques will help extend his career.

Veterans leading by example!

Another beauty by Ho-Sang..I think that gives him 6 in 6 games so far.

The only disappointing thing is that he wussed out of picking the number 69, like it was very obvious he just reversed them to make 96, or that other time he wore 66 because again he wussed out of wearing 69, like it was very obvious he just flipped the 9.
