2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

I remember when he reported on his case of Covid, he had a very rough ride with it and thought he was going to die for several days. I wonder if this could have triggered the ALS?

Nik Lidstr?m was asked to be a part of a board that would help financing the research about ALS several months ago. He said yes and told media that it has been a very emotional ride communicating with both B?rje and his wife. But he's proud to be asked, and he'll do what he can to counter the horrible disease.

News out of Sweden is unfortunately that Salming can no longer talk on his own without using an Ipad, he's been depressed and the ALS is progressing quickly. His message to all supporters is "I'm thinking of you". Then Salming bursts out in tears in an interview. His wife says that it's impossible to describe how it feels to see someone you love so much feel this way.

In September he told media that he can no longer read. 🙁
Really heartbreaking news about Borje, my favorite Leaf.  ALS is one of the worst ailments

He became my all time favourite Leaf. This is so sad. He was such a vibrant man. Whenever I seen him he always looked as if he could suit up anytime. 🙏

Don?t think Malgin deserved to come out of the lineup but the second line is pretty much where Robertson needs to be put.  Bunting needs to pick up his game

Goyette is still listed as Director, Player Development

Gilman was listed there on Aug 11th

but he's still listed on the Marlies (probably not updated yet)

Keefe: I used 'wrong words' to call out top players after loss to Coyotes

Not to sound like a dick... But I'm kind of thinking "fuck this team."

I don't feel Malgin deserved it either.
But if they're going to have Robertson around, he can't sit all the time.

Keefe denied a head injury:
https://www.thestar.com/sports/leafs/2022/10/19/maple-leafs-place-injured-jake-muzzin-on-injured-reserve.html
Coach Sheldon Keefe said Muzzin was checked for a concussion and said there?s ?no head injury at all.? But he added, ?Jake?s had a number of injuries that have been cause for concern for us. And any time a player gets injured and has as many injuries as Jake has had to deal with, there is concern of course.

?How much concern? I don?t know. I think it?s probably too early to say that at this point.?

Keefe said Muzzin was at an event on Tuesday night, and at the Leafs practice facility Wednesday and ?looked like himself ... We?ll let the process take care of itself.?

Hard to make the two statements line up.

This is squarely on management now. People have called them to move Muzzin for a while now due to injury and just overall ineffective play. The fact that they haven't is just biting them in the ass now.

So you know how management are trying to move him on "due to injury and ineffective pay"? Do you think maybe then other management might think the same thing and not want to take him...?

In the voice of Jack Armstrong "Get that logic outta here!"
