2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs General Discussion

As for waivers, as long he doesn?t play in 10 games or on the roster for 30 days, he won?t have to clear again.

Speaking of waivers:

Anderson looks like he's playing tomorrow, so the team will need to make a decision on his status after that.

Part of a trade maybe? Will he clears waivers next time?

I really just want the leaves to trade for an extra Nylander.  One to play in the top 6 and one to generate offense on the 3rd line. If Tavares or Matthews is hurt in the playoffs, one of the Nylander plays with Kerfoot on the 2nd line.

Is there an extra Nylander we could trade for? (Is that Kane?)

I don?t know about being a Canucks fan but I can certainly empathize with this poor guy, being a Leafs fan for 45 years now?

Russell Atkins wanted 6 Canucks to be his pallbearers 'SO THEY COULD LET HIM DOWN ONE MORE TIME?

Good belly laugh, thanks for posting.

I hope that when I get close to the end, I a) come up with something more original than an overused trope, and 2) have something less bitter on my observations of life.

I would trade Knies+ for Nikolaj Ehlers

Me too. But not sure why the Jets would move him? They're either first or second in their division.

I was stunned by this.  Everyone else goes off to a beach vacation and Willy stays back and continues to practice enough though he's having a career year.  This guy has hit another level of commitment to hockey.  He gonna get PAID.

Woll and Holmberg went down during the break, and they're both back up now along with Steeves.

It'll be really beneficial for the team to see what Woll can do at the NHL level now. He's eligible for waivers starting next season, which will make projecting who's in net next season kind of tricky.

Best case scenario: Woll's good enough to take a back-up spot and the Leafs move on from one of Murray or Samsonov and the cap savings that come from that can go to another forward or defenceman

Worst case scenario: The Leafs hope Woll is good enough for a back-up spot but isn't and we've got enough Garret Sparks situation on our hand.

Even better best-case scenario: Murray gets healthy in time for the playoffs and can be Samsonov's backup.

No, besty-best scenario of them all: Woll does a binnington.

MLHS has a column up that kind of trashes Sandin, comparing him to Dermott.  He has tailed off lately, but earlier in the year he looked fine with Liljegren.  That said, if his weakness is handling a hard forecheck (and I called him out on just that the last game against Boston) then they need to go into the playoffs where he's the #7 guy.

Or I suppose they could include him in a package.  But I really hope they find a way to keep him.  I think he's got real offensive potential, and they sure as hell need more of that from the blueline.

Sandin has had a rough little stretch but I think he's a lot better than Dermott who was never able to handle top 4 minutes.  Yeah he's a bit small but he's smart with the puck and often makes good defensive reads to get out of trouble in his own end.
