People say something like this every time there?s any sort of issue with a player, and it never seems to have much of an impact.

If anything it might attract more vets because Treliving is giving out ridiculous contracts.

Bill_Berg_is_pissed_off said:Lol, that's one way to look at it. Of course they must not care about winning then.
Maybe Reaves not playing helped Perry make up his mind. And I don't think he played much worse than anyone expected.

Or provides the impression that a prospective UFA is going to a competitive hockey team - not a country club rehab. Leafs have the deep pockets for Robidas island. I don't think that is a bad thing.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want them to play him. It's just such a terrible signing. What did they expect? He's playing exactly the way everyone expected him to play. If they didn't want that, why sign him? And why sign him for three damn years!

I saw the fight or hit clips. I didn't see him skating much, etc. I didn't know he had issues but it isn't my job to know. They would have medical on him. They signed him for 3 years to outbid other teams apparently. When you find out about his knee braces and how bad his knees were, it is not an easy signing to understand. But it is a max $250k cap hit for each AHL season ...

Just wanted to jump in here and say his on-ice results have actually been like significantly worse than what they were last year with Minnesota:
45.99 CF%, 2.00 GA/60, 51.28 GF%, 2.33 xGA/60, 48.67 xGF%
vs. this year in Toronto:
42.86 CF%, 5.10 GA/60, 13.33 GF%, 2.81 xGA/60, 37.07 xGF%
His deployment in Minnesota was also much less favourable than it's been in Toronto. We could definitely have tolerated a season of Reaves if he was performing at his Minny numbers (his presence on the 4th line would still have made Kampf's defensive talents a complete waste but that's another story). He was, at the very least, somewhat kinda sorta playable I guess. That's not even remotely the case now.
So that's just to say whatever anyone expected him to play like in his first season as a Leaf, he's almost certainly actually been much worse than that.
Bill_Berg_is_pissed_off said:He has better numbers with the Leafs than he did with New York! I guess expecting the best possible outcome when you make decisions is one way to go.
