Wow, never thought he'd be claimed before Nick Robertson.
I've liked Kaliyev since his junior days. Shocked the Kings couldn't get anything for him. Hope he does well with this second chance but I also dunno if the Rangers will be the best fit for him.
First time I’ve seen this. I’m even more furious Bennet wasn’t suspended when he hit Knies. Clear intent to injure. Imagine how many games they would give to Kadri.
$5,000 is a joke when it's clear that he uses this punch-to-the-face hit with intent to injure and has done so many times. Is the NHL that stupid? This is not okay. Bennett thinks he's clever and can get away with this and has. If I was doling out punishment and this happened a third time and all three times the guy gets hurt I would use my brain to figure there is clear intent and would feel stupid for the past a few times when I missed it or did not see the intent. He is sucker-punching people in the face. If someone squares up with a guy and sucker punches them they get suspended but Bennett does it when players least expect it and gets nothing?
