That’s interesting and thanks for sharing but man… Kadri, or I guess Dan Robson, is not a good writer.Speaking of Kadri and Marner…
Ghostwritten from interviews is my guess. That’s interesting and thanks for sharing but man… Kadri, or I guess Dan Robson, is not a good writer.
Ya...but fasstholes that are mean.Oh so you mean we should get more assholes that can play fast?

Knies and McMann aren't intimidating or mean.
Oh so you mean we should get more assholes that can play fast?
Getting suspended when your team needs you most doesn't make you a leader. Looking at you, Nazem.
Too nice? I mean we revered Wendel and Dougie. I don't recall them getting "run out of town." I guess Larry Murphy must've been the biggest asshole around.Yes, we need those guys........... in Toronto the Good we call them "Assholes" and they get run out of town. And we lose.
..... in other markets, we call guys like Tkachuk and Cousins and Kreider and Kadri "Leaders". And they win.
I believe the Leafs issue for 57 years is Toronto Culture. Too nice.
Fans are too nice (fans in other markets would never accept amost 6 decades of losing if it was the mecca of the sport). So the product on the ice reflects what the fans are willing to accept.
Domi was also very much revered here for most of his tenure as a Leaf. Same with Tucker.Too nice? I mean we revered Wendel and Dougie. I don't recall them getting "run out of town." I guess Larry Murphy must've been the biggest asshole around.
I like how you completely gloss over how Kadri got suspended repeatedly in the playoffs. And the fans had absolutely nothing to do with ‘running him out of town’Yes, we need those guys........... in Toronto the Good we call them "Assholes" and they get run out of town. And we lose.

Yeah being not a nice fan base has really helped the flyers get a cup in the last 50 years.Yes, we need those guys........... in Toronto the Good we call them "Assholes" and they get run out of town. And we lose.

True, but those suspensions had a significant whiff of BSGetting suspended when your team needs you most doesn't make you a leader. Looking at you, Nazem.
Doesn't matter. A leader knows when they have to hold back to not put themselves at risk. On both occasions, he went too far. Whether they deserved the extent of the suspensions he earned is debatable, but neither of those incidents should have played out as they did.True, but those suspensions had a significant whiff of BS
He knew the target was on his back. He had to know not to be an idiot.True, but those suspensions had a significant whiff of BS
I like how Sundin doesn’t make the list. The last great Leaf team that made the conference finals was the '01-'02 Leafs.
Domi
Tucker
Corson
Green
Roberts
McCabe
Yushkevich
Belak
Hardly a group of "nice guys".
Shortly after that, we entered the Black Hole Era until Matthews, Marner, Rielly and Nylander were drafted. Then we entered the great regular season team that can't win in the playoffs. Teams that are smaller, faster and skill based.
Let's also not forget, this came after years of the Toronto media and a portion of the fanbase wanting to move Sundin for someone tougher/gritttier/more like Gilmour/etc.I like how Sundin doesn’t make the list.
Yushkevich didn’t play in the playoffs that year (and I looooved that guy).
Domi, Corson and Belak combined for 3 goals across 54 games between them that playoff run.
Even Tucker only had 4 total goals in 17 games.
Sundin was hurt in that playoffs and had almost 100 PIM during the regular season.Let's also not forget, this came after years of the Toronto media and a portion of the fanbase wanting to move Sundin for someone tougher/gritttier/more like Gilmour/etc.
If this team and this fanbase has run anyone out of town, it's skilled players that don't have an obvious physical edge to their game.
I mean, just look at the narratives around Nylander and Marner in recent years.
