24/7 Red Wings/Maple Leafs Episode One Thread

Boy does Dion Phaneuf have enough suits? Didnt realize he was into fashion that much. I was surprised at Carlyle.. Definitely more jovial than I thought.. I liked when the kid stuck his fingers in toaster and Carlyle trys to make him jump by yelling..Carlyle was actually kind of funny. Only negative for me was they could have done without revisitng the game 7 bruins crap last year

:D

Yeah, he was alot less uptight than I expected.  So was Phaneuf.

I love this show but really enjoyed it being the Leafs. I also like the Wings organisation so even better. I do hate the fact thatAlfredsson and Carlyle came across so well. I'd prefer to be able to want them sacked/to never score a point again etc.

Delighted it started with the Boston game as it was the one I was at. Also saw cameras down at the city hall rink when I was down tryjg to skate last week. If I'd realised it was them I'd have tried a lot harder to get in front of the camera ;D

Looking forward to next weeks which looks like it'll cover St Louis and Chicago . Should be interesting in the dressing room for those.

What did come across I guess was how young the leafs roster really is in comparisons to Detroit.

Bernier's comment before the Boston game was pretty great.

It's a shame the Sportsnet viewers won't hear it.

I'm watching it on Sportsnet tonight. Am I going to miss lots? Should I just download it from somewhere?

I don't know, I'd probably download it. If all they changed was bleeping out the f-bombs I probably wouldn't care but I'm assuming they're cutting some content out to fit in commercials.

I just checked Sportsnets broadcast schedule and it looks like it's going to be an hour and 15 minutes. So they'll just be editing it for bleeps and commercials. You won't actually miss any of the content.

I will say that, for me, getting to hear just how salty the language is on the ice and the way the players talk to each other(Lupul was a highlight) is a pretty fun aspect of the show.

Especially liked Carlyle's reaction to Dion's hit.

My wife says that Henrik Zetterberg looks like Wreck-It-Ralph.

Why all the hype? I just watched the first episode and I think it takes itself way to seriously. I wish they had more fun with it. The best part was Kessel and JVR playing table hockey because it seemed somewhat authentic. All of the one-on-one interviews seem so fake. I'll watch the next one, but I hope the NHL doesn't think of this as a way to attract new fans.

On the contrary, my wife was riveted to the TV with me last night. She NEVER watches anything remotely sports-related.
