Leafs have to avoid the bruins in the playoffs.  Simply can?t beat them.
why don't you take your negativity and shove it. Most poster on this site believe in this team and if your imagination is so limited, then I am sorry for you. I saw the Leafs beat a better Bruins team in person in 78 playoffs at the Gardens. Sorry Mate but you Gotta Believe.

They outshot the Bruins, controlled the shot share, and lost by 1 goal with their 3rd string goalie in net. Step away from the ledge people.

Finally a voice of reason, thanks CTB

Well regardless of how this game ends, this'll be back-to-back solid games by Nylander. Looks like the rust has been shaken off.

I wonder if having three guys struggling on a lien isn?t a great idea.  Marleau really has taken a step back this year and Kadri and nylander are on goal slumps.

Yeah, Patty is pretty much a cipher these days.  Half a step too slow, as when he couldn't bury that backhander when he had an open net.

Yeah this was just one of those games where the better team took the L tonight.

Honestly believe they would beat the bruins in the playoffs?

Do you think they'll beat them in April?  I am not convinced they can, as now constituted.

Just ahead of mid-January as reasonably expected.

Surprised some of you never gave him to next season. Had ample time to start producing. I missed the second period but from what I seen in the other two was promising. Battling and going to the net. Wants to be an elite talent and shed the soft image has to do more of that. Big kid solidly built but needs to go to the tough areas if he wants to put up better numbers.

Patty, we have a beautiful beach chair for you on Robidas Island where your kidz can swim and play. Please go, we will allow many short visits from Mitch, and Auston and the others whilst you are there or would you take a coaching job for your big bucks for one year?

What I'm saying is that it's crazy to think that they can't beat them. Heck, the Leafs were one win away from beating them last year and we've essentially swapped Tomas Plekanec for John Tavares from that series. Just think about how that sounds for a second.

Yah I do, why don't you. We almost beat them the last 2 times without what we have now. Gotta believe Pal

Honestly, it's time for him to head to the 4th line.  Brown could accomplish more in his spot.

Yes I believe the Leafs can beat the Bruins in the playoffs and I think the players believe it too. It'll come, patience.

Of course they can beat them.  I truly believe, though, unless some changes are coming on defense (and Babcock pulls himself together enough to demote Marleau), the only way that happens is if we get home ice *and* Andersen plays at the very top of his game, stealing at least one game the way Rask did tonight.  It's a thin margin for success.

Gardiner does not match up well against the Bruins forecheck, Zaitsev is not good enough, and Dermott needs more seasoning.  Ozhiganov (or Holl, or Marincin) also not good enough.  Hainsey likely to be battered into mistakes over a series.  They are simply a piece or two short on the blueline.

I don't see it happening unless they move Kapanen or Johnsson as part of a deal for a defenseman.  I hate to see either go but that's the way forward I'm afraid.

I'm calling you Peter Chiarelli from now on
