I don?t care what anyone thinks I can?t wait til Gardiner is gone
Awful

He makes it harder for the leafs to be successful. He has to go.
He's literally the 2nd best option on D and you want to get rid of him. Sure he makes mistakes like every guy out there but he also drives offense like other Leafs D not named Rielly don't.

I simply disagree.  I hope they move him or let him walk.
You can disagree all you want the stats don't back you up in any way.
My eyes stat tell me he's horrible defensively. He's a Butter soft D man and that simply isn't good enough come playoff time. It isn't good now. He's consistently bad and not wining puck/position battles.
Lol shadows of Larry Murphy. We always need a whipping boy. Rather than targeting our actual crappy players like Hainsey/Zaitsev and supporting good player with good partners we target the ones who generally push play in our favour, but aren't hard enough and who will make a major gaffe once in a while.

You have to decide what warts you're willing to live with and I really don't want 37yo Hainsey and piss poor Zaitsev or even Ozhiganov vs Gardiner. So if that's the case do we change two D lines entirely? Because that doesn't seem likely.
Perfect analogy.

I think we are playing well, getting confirmation that when we play right we can bury teams. We are also getting the lesson that when we take our foot off the gas even slightly against good teams, we can get burned.

True, but do they really still need to learn that lesson?

If you?ve ever had to teach teenagers and young adults before, then you know it?s a lot of repetition and learning by doing and each person is going to turn that corner at a different rate.

They?re professional athletes for god sakes not two year olds.

Yeah I guess they should just throw more hits like adults.

Definitely one thing lacking and obviously one you feel isn?t necessary. Leafs don?t put any fear into any teams with their physicality and against the Bruins it?s one thing that stands out and some of the Bruins know that and play accordingly.

Well regardless of how this game ends, this'll be back-to-back solid games by Nylander. Looks like the rust has been shaken off.

Just because Zaitsev and Hainsey are crap doesn't mean Jake is good. He isn't and can be lumped in the same category as the other 2 dumpster fires. All 3 can go bye bye.
No use arguing with someone who can't be persuaded regardless of stats or overall play or can't see a difference between literally a worse than replacement level player, a 37yo replacement level player and a player we're probably going to have a hard time replacing and who's replacement will probably represent a downgrade. I don't love Jake, but I'm willing to acknowledge he's at least our third or second best Dman on this team.

Have to score though.  Good games don?t do much if there is no production.

Nice push and all that but without some upgrades on the D we are not beating this team in April.

Tavares with probably his weakest game of the year.

Just ahead of mid-January as reasonably expected.

I wonder if having three guys struggling on a lien isn?t a great idea.  Marleau really has taken a step back this year and Kadri and nylander are on goal slumps.

The B's are really stifling, but I think we played a good game, and if Freddy's in net I think this would've gone to OT.
