This 2nd period intermission segment with Nik effing Kypreos is the worst thing in the history of the universe. Sportsnet has to back off the CBC when it comes to production.  Mother of god.

I have two words for you.  Al.  Strachan.

I would take the Hot Stove every day of the week and twice on sunday over what they're doing now.

Sure, but sans guys like him.  My favorite panel was LeBrun and Friedman.

I think it would be ok if they actually talked about things with either:
1) Intricate detail
2) Turned it into a coaching fundamentals discussion for younger players to learn something

Instead it's them standing on an Ipad and making vague and general statements about things and doing a stupid demonstration that doesn't add to what is going on.

And now to bring an expert opinion on the tragic events in Ottawa/Quebec this week...Mike Myers.

But Strombolopos fist bumping every guest and calling them "bro" surely makes up for minor production gaffes.

Seriously, this effort is ghastly. What happened to the roundtable format with Elliott Freideman and regulars? There was some great discussion. I guess it wasn't "edgy" enough for the millenials.

The satellite hotstove was a great, intelligent segment. It helped define the Saturday nigh experience for many years, at least for me. If Sportsnet had any sense at all it wouldn't have touched the HNIC televsion product (though it could have revamped the online stuff).

I was expecting the worst , but he actually conveyed some sincerety and class. Strange choice tho.

The things that they've tried to break down in those segments (like Kessel's shot) have been pretty interesting. They're just doing it in awful ways. Stick with the video and keep the sticks in the hockey rinks.

Not saying Gardiner isn't at fault there, but that looked like pretty clear interference by Paille to me when they went for the puck. He didn't even try to play the puck.

I don't care if you guys kick me off the board.  Phaneuf is freaking awful.

And so far Gardiner seems to be taking notes from the leader.
