If that's the answer re: Benn, that he's a really well rounded player, I'd buy it. I struggle a little bit with the "turnover machine" line of thinking re: Hall as I've never really bought it concerning Kessel either but if you tell me he's a liability defensively I'd buy that too.
Still, I sure would like to see Canada's B-team get a shot in Sochi.
I'll admit, of the players on Canada's roster Benn is definitely the one I know the least about, but from what I've seen and heard of Benn he's a damn good shooter and as a power forward he can do a lot of the heavy lifting on a line that a guy like say - St. Louis or Giroux - wouldn't be able to do. A guy who can retrieve pucks along the boards and out-muscle the opposition.
I'm not sure how effective that will be on International ice, but that seems to be their strategy. All the picks Canada made seemed to be very deliberate and following a formula.
