Somewhat unfair of you to imply that anything bigger than the iphone (which in all honesty IS considered small now) wouldn't fit in a pocket. I've had the 3GS, Nexus S, Galaxy S3 and now the Note 2. The fact that every iteration of phone gets thinner makes it easier to fit in your pocket, and so far I really haven't had any trouble carrying my Note 2 around.
It was a shot against the baby screen comment, which I think is just as unfair. I get that some people obviously prefer the larger screen size, or Samsung wouldn't be making phones that way. Personally though I don't like them. Even if the iPhone went too much bigger than what it already is (which as mentioned it's rumoured to increase in size) I wouldn't be a fan. The 5 might be the last phone I purchase from them if that's the case.
But like I was trying to say in my second paragraph, the screen size should really be the last determining factor when someone like BGR is trying to figure out the "best smartphone of 2013".
Rumours are it'll be 4.8" screen, which would be the same screen size as the Galaxy S3. Honestly with the small bezels nowadays they can make phones smaller with bigger screen sizes. Just look at the Motorola X, it's a 4.7" screen but doesn't feel like a big phone at all. Look at this side by side, it's got a much bigger display than the iPhone 5S but isn't overpowering in size:
