Flames @ Leafs - Feb. 22nd, 7:00pm - TSN4, TSN 1050

Keep up the Nylander trade discussion guys. Maybe my suggestion back in the summer to trade him for a high draft pick in order to free some room to try and sign Pietrangelo won?t look so bad. :)

It seems like every year Nylander's play comes up in conversation. So when does management say enough is enough and trade him. Kid has boatload of talent but his work ethic seems to be questioned year after year. Should of traded him during his holdout. People say his numbers and I'm talking possession, zone entry Corsi etc are good but bottom line is him and JT are a huge part and huge chunk of the cap and quite frankly they aren't playing to what they are getting paid. Nylander gets criticized for disappearing in the playoffs but now he's pulled a Houdini act during the regular season. If they can trade him for Tkachuk I'd do it in a heartbeat. Nylander has more skill but all round Matthew is a better player in my opinion and come playoff time would bring more to the table. I personally don't think Calgary would trade him one for one. It's just frustrating watching Nylander so disengaged at times. I have repeated this and it may be his style of play as everything comes so effortless that it looks like he doesn't give a shit. But deep down he's just too timid in my books. You think some grit or toughness may come with maturation but in his case I don't think that's happening.

It certainly doesn't feel like he has 14 pts in 19 games. It's just so damn hard to comprehend what the hell is going on with him and Tavares right now? They need to get going even strength.

Is it really that hard to comprehend players being in a bit of a scoring slump? Especially when the slumps aren't that bad?

A defenceman on pace for 34 points this season? Hard pass for $8.8mil.

Oh good.  Its a shame I'm working a shift tonight and probably won't see a second of this game.

My god they're doing it!
I'm really hoping for Barabanov tonight. Should be an interesting game. I have low expectations for this one but we'll see.

I guess they wanted him to get some more practices in, but this would have been a good opportunity for Galchenyuk to step in.
