Game 17 - Battle of Ontario - Sens @ Leafs - Nov 12th, 2011 - 19:00 EST - 5-2 L

Rout tonight for the Leafs.  Scrivens with the Shutout in a 5-0 win.  Scrivens drops his GAA to 2.47 and Save % improves to .919 in the process and all this talk about trading for a vet backup is put to rest.

It's like this look at what Giguere did for the Leafs, look at how well he has looked for Colorado.  The Leafs are horrible defensively and any washed up vet like Turco or Nabokov will fair no better then Scrivens or even Gus unless this teams tightens up in their own end.

High scoring game in this affair.  7-4 Leafs in this affair.  Gonna be one of those high scoring affairs.

I'm not so sure about the 5-0 Win but I agree with not bringing in a 'vet' for the Backup position quite yet. Scrivens had the 1 game that was bumpy but he seems to have a great all around game. I'd say wait another 1/2 dozen games before pulling the trigger on anything.

I really hope our defence doesn't hang Scrivens out to dry tonight. We should be able to beat the Sens handily if our D plays a decent game in front of him.

Did Cliff say "They still love ya" to Borje Salming when he shook his hand there?  Thought I heard that.  :)

he did.

interesting to see Howe and Lindsay shake hands, don't they have a deep hatred for each other?

This game won't be starting until 8 I don't think.  However between this and the Remembrance Day ceremonies, these are the ones I don't have a problem with.  Celebrating the Hall-of-Famers of the game is important.

I don't know if it's 'hatred' but Howe could have helped Lindsay out more (or at all) when he was trying to help organize the players back in the day.

LOL Belfour looks like he's dressed to go out drinking the second the ceremony is over.
