Wow, Joey.  The 2 undeniable penalties, and you took both -- at the worst possible times.  :(

The first was pretty deniable.

His boarding call?  It was obvious.  Or they could have called interference,

Boarding is always a subjective call.

He had just passed the puck. You're allowed to hit a guy right after they get rid of the puck.  It's finishing your check.

Only 2 PP tonight.

We only had 2 PP last time we played NJ too.

Apparently, we play teams that are perfect little angels.

Maybe there is no correlation, but it seems like the PK has been significantly worse in the games Reimer has been back.

Too small a sample size though, and I don't know how Gustavsson was before.

I don't think so.  I'd have to look at a replay, but I think the puck was way on the other side of the ice.  At any rate, it was obvious boarding.  Even these clownstripes got that one right.

Didn't watch the whole game but was probably good for my blood pressure that I didn't but from what I have been reading refs were horrible. Wilson should say something. Screw Bettman and the league. The refs shouldn't decide games.

The first Crabb penalty "boarding" was a joke!  He body checked a guy that just made a pass.  Nothing more... I couldnt believe they called that!

What the hell is coming on? The last couple games Leafs can't but a PP. Where the refs seem to call fluff shit against the Leafs.

The PK was bad no question but asking about the refs.

And already a man down that's what gets me ticked even more.

Agreed. He's killing a penalty, is forechecking with speed and finishes his check on a player who's standing still.

I don't get it. The Gardiner penalty was bad and the Liles penalty was downright shameful.

Wow I'd be getting fined by the league after that game. That was one of the worst games I have seen called in a long time. Sort or reminds me of Fraser refereeing a game.
They seemed to play in spurts tonight and kept getting dragged back by the penalty calls. Liles didn't look very good tonight either. Well looking forward to the next game now I guess.

IMO it was to make up for the hit Crabb laid out on Perrault in the first period. it was a nice hit, but one ive seen called boading before. OV put his hands up on the play to complain to the ref that it was a penalty.

He's played 3 of the 4 games since coming back:

He's 0-2-1 with a 3.63 GAA and an .864 SV% and his season numbers have slipped below Gus.  Small sample size and everything, but I hope they don't run Reimer simply because he was good last year.  He had a mediocre camp and I really don't think we are looking at a guy who is showing he is an outright #1 right now.  Some of it will be rust, but losing games while he shakes off rust isn't going to help.  He made some really nice saves but looked lost a few times on some more routine plays where he was swimming.  I expect that out of Gus because he has the reflexes to make up for it (sometimes) but Reimer's more of a guy who should be set to the shot and able to track it and smother it.  If he's trying to flail around, he's in trouble.

It's still one of those sobering reminder games that the team is still going to heavily be held back by their awful PK though.  You just can't win games when your PK falls apart every single time there is the slightest bit of adversity.  They collapse as if they are playing against a single opposing skater and leave 1-3 guys open at all times.

With that 4-6 tonight, Leafs are back in 29th in PK. They have given up 29 ppg, which is now 5 more than the next highest (Ottawa). Yikes.

Yeah the refs screwed us tonight, but if the Leafs had even a REASONABLE PK they still win the game (or at least get it to OT). I mean 4 out of 6 killed would have still been a crap %, but at least it doesn't outright lose the game.

When will they fix the PK?

I think on Dec. 18th they said.

jonasTSN1050 Jonas Siegel
Steckel post-game: "...anytime you give up four powerplay goals you?re not going to win a (expletive) game. Sorry, but it?s the truth."

Why he is apologizing for speaking the truth?

Another truth is that you are not going to make the playoffs with a PK that's 29th.
