Game 3 - Calgary Flames vs Toronto Maple Leafs W3-2

Yeah, I'm not sure one can say Reimer has played 'streaky' so far as much as the Leafs have, were any of the 5 from Ottawa softies? The 2 from Calgary were stoppable in terms of overall coverage and not screening their own goalie.

Let's face it, Reimer is a streaky goaltender.  What has he given up, like, 7 goals in a period and a half?  Extrapolate that out over a whole game and you got a guy with a 14.00 GAA.  Ugly, very ugly.  And if you take that over a whole season, he's going to give up damn near 1,000 goals if he starts 70 games.  You aren't going to make the playoffs with numbers like that!

Sure, you can nitpick that he has a 0.00 GAA the rest of the time, but hey, that's streaky too.  I - N - C - O - N - S - I - S - T - E - N- T.

Cause for concern?  I sure think so.  I hope Gus is ready to go, we will need him!!!

This is a very bizarre way of looking at things. You have to take a full game into consideration. You can't piece-meal the last period of a game from one week ago with the first period of a game from yesterday; they're not related.

GAA is an average of the goals against per game, averaged over the season, not of selected periods in a game.

Reimer is still finding his game, but it looks like he's got the make up to succeed and, just as important, his team seems to have confidence in him and want to play for him.

It's hard to get a read on what kind of team the Leafs are this year, especially with that weird week off. Last year, they seemed to completely deflate upon losing a game after their 4-0 start. Hopefully, they are that much more mature this year, where they'll be able to rebound after a loss.

There's been so much roster turn over since Burke arrived that chemistry issues are bound to happen. I am hopeful that the Leafs have a good enough team to avoid the prolonged losing streaks of recent years, and maybe grab a playoff spot.

But, we'll see. Colorado are pretty hot right now. Should be a good test.

Speaking of Colorado... What chance we see Giggy in net?

100% chance.

Edit: well not 100% i guess, but the avs reporter for the denver post tweeted that JS will get the start tomorrow.

Well, I guess I'd try to pick the corners on him and try a lot of deeks... Make him work that groin!

I have to ask in behalf of myself and others with faulty sarcasmascopes tonight, ZBBM... Joking?

I took it as him being sarcastic.

I thought the Hannan shot was quite stoppable. Heard the Flames talk about Reimer's scouting report: shoot high. But that can be said for most butterfly goalies.

I also heard a Flame describe the Leafs as "a run & gun team" in that video.  :)

Know I'm late here but I nearly hit the ceiling when Kessel scored the beauty to make it 2-2. Great comeback win, hopefully they can keep this run going. It's fun watching the Leafs again.

Don't like our odds of getting 3 past Kiprusoff though

They weren't too bad ;)

Hah I couldn't be happier about underestimating our chances.  ;D

They started to look much better (Kiprusoff started to look very human) when Lupul sniped that one by him early in the 2nd.

I like the wear Reimer beared down after the 2-0 deficit and wouldn't allow another goal.  That point blank save off Iginla that led to the rush up the ice and Lupul's goal was huge.
