TSN's description of the game winner during Sportscentre: "...Kessel falls down..."

uh, yeah.

That's messed up obviously but did anyone catch why in the world the Leafs' defensemen were nowhere to be seen? Cross check aside it was a turnover at the other team's blue line. How are their forwards behind the defense?

I know a lot of people are jumping on Reimer but I think Gardiner was the goat tonight.

Gardiner was the one defenceman back, wasn't he? And I don't really blame the defencemen for jumping in a little more at that point in the game.

But yeah, Gardiner didn't have a good game. The penalty that Mac took really changed the momentum in Buffalo's favour and was a stupid penalty for him to take. Ditto for Phaneuf of course. Reimer wasn't perfect, but he wasn't alone in that sense tonight.

I thought Reims was good tonight. All the goals were of the tap in or rocketed passed him. I don't think Reimer could have done anything else on any of the goals, except the one that was blasted at the side of the hash mark.

Gardiner, was well, not very good tonight. Too lackadaisical.

I understand cheating a bit but not to the extent that what was practically a neutral zone turnover results in a breakaway. It's still a one goal game.

Watching the reply, Kessel passed the top of the faceoff circle before curling back a little bit, so calling it a (practically) neutral zone turnover might be a bit much. And it didn't even look like Vanek ever passed centre ice, so he was cherry picking a little bit and got pretty lucky that Kessel fell down.

I haven't seen a replay, but my initial reaction was that Vanek came off the bench on a line change.

I didn't see the game but listened to it on the radio. Joe Bowen after the 3rd period non calls called it a disgrace to the refereeing profession.

Whenever I miss a game I come first to the GDT and read it through in order to find out the result.  I am used to the ups and downs of ecstasy and despair but this one sounded like a real roller coaster.

I am surprised Wilson went with Reimer tonight.  I thought it would be the other way round.

Now I'm picturing Reimer behind the bench and Wilson between the pipes. O_o'

It may take Reimer a while longer to get in the groove.  The Monster had a much shakier start this year, but he eventually found himself.  Right now I'm more worried about that PK.

I fell asleep and woke up near the end. The non-call on the cross check on Kessel was absolutely preposterous especially given how tight they were calling the Leafs earlier. I just don't understand what is going on with the reffing lately it is the worst ever and keeps sliding.

A team with one of the worst PK continues it's undisciplined play.  The Leafs had, according to the scoresheet, 23 minutes in penalties to Buffalo's 4.  Something here doesn't make sense.  What, pray tell me, for want of something better, is the coaching staff doing about this?

Tonight, the Leafs will play Vancouver, a team with one of the best PP in the league.  Unless the Sedins do
a disappearing act, it's highly doubtful the Leafs will win this game either.

Go leafs Go!*

*This IS Woopi approved!

I don't get this thing from Cox... Did they not flash a stat which shows Reimer having an insanely good EV Sv%? I mean, isn't this more the team letting Reimer down then the other way around?

Well 15 minutes of those 23 were from Phaneuf's major penalty.

Who is this Cox that you speak of and why does he matter?

Probably the correct attitude. Anyway, I tried to look up EV Sv% leaders and didn't find that stat anywhere... Know where I can find it by chance?
