Game of Thrones (S6)

I actually sort of felt cheated by that. We get tons of Arya interacting with the actors at the play, a ton of the chase scene but none of the fight?

That bummed me out too. Same with Blackfish getting killed offscreen. When he said something like "I haven't had a good sword fight in awhile" I thought that was sort of a meta line the writers had thrown in because they haven't had too many in the show in general lately and they were going to include this one on-screen (that flashback one earlier in the season being the notable exception). But nope.

I can't get over the Waif's running in the Arya scenes.  Like a Terminator movie.  And slowing down or stopping whenever Arya was down.
T-1000 was my exact thought watching her go. Almost to the point where I wondered if she was told to emulate Robert Patrick.

I guess they determined that the graphic violence was better served by showing Zombie Mountain tearing a head off.  ???

I think it was a money saving move, like when Tyrion first rode the vanguard in the Riverlands and promptly got knocked out so they wouldn't have to hire all the extras and horses and horse trainers and costumes. I felt a bit cheated, just like I did when Areo Hotah, badaxe of Dorne, gets lightly knifed in the back and promptly, eyerollingly dies.

Yeah, I feel your pain.  The big budget is still being blown in the North and Mereen this season.

Certainly some interesting choices plot-wise. And by interesting, I mean nonsensical. What a waste of potential in some story threads.
I mean you couldve done so much with Aryas story. Anything! She couldve stolen a face, did some hiding anything. But instead we get Arya acting out of character wandering around and asking for a cabin with random money, conveniently healed from the actress who just dies in the end and she fights no problem after a major injury.

I think the show officially jumped the shark there.

It'll be fun tonight having to duck spoilers for the 2-3 hours until the basketball game is over.

GoT and HBO formula in general
Episode 1: Assess aftermath of previous season's cliffhanger
Episode 2: Tie up loose ends and push new threads
Episode 3: Expository
Episode 4: Spin wheels; maybe donuts!
Episode 5: Some sort of reveal/hype but isolated
Episode 6: Haha, suckers, nothing will happen for awhile
Episode 7: Something good happens!
Episode 8: Something poopy happened!
Episode 9: This is where the budget went; Chekov's gun fires
Episode 10: Denouement... and semi-sudden cliffhan-

Yeah. I mean I felt it was better early on but it's just becoming so goddamn frustrating. It's like when you watch you understand that you're playing the lottery - you hope something good happens but most of the time it doesn't.

Somehow, they're going to have to compress that schedule into 7 episodes for the next two seasons - at least, that's the word at the moment.

So, tonight's episode . . . largest body count of the series, yes? Like, half the episode was bodies falling.

Really? I thought maybe Hardhome, or even the siege on Castle Black. I guess I'll wait in sharing my opinions about this episode overall though....

Maybe it's just how concentrated the dead bodies were in this one. There are literal piles.

It was basically the most predictable episode ever, but I still really enjoyed it. The whole episode was just shot terrifically well. Sansa's one bad-ass witch.
