Jets @ Leafs - Apr. 5th, 7:00pm - CBC, SN 590

Bolland looks surprisingly awful.

Well everyone does, but he really does.

This game needs a little more McClement-Clarkson powerplay action.

I love how as soon as they go down 2 all of a sudden they play the Leiweke card.

He gave an interview a couple days ago, and, the just of what he said about Leafs basically came down to "Nonis, fix this mess or I'll find someone who will."

Why give Nonis ? the Nonis whose signing of Clarkson singlehandedly overshadows all the good he's done ? why give him another chance?

Jeez, if by "fixing this mess" all he means is get a new coach, well, doh.

Mind you if this is season-ender desperation by the Leafs and it looks like a whole 3rd period power play for the Jets...I think the choice is made for me.

Well, as much as I dislike Clarkson, I'm not going to fire a GM over one free agent signing when he's only been on the job for like 15 months. He gets one opportunity to at least attempt to fix it. If things don't turn around in terms of performance (and, hopefully, results), send him packing during/after next season.

So many times the Leafs will pass to a corner or a spot where there is no one there. They never have any puck support and I think that is on coaching. This team blows and Leaf fans have the worst luck.

There's our soon to be 7 year 3rd line centre.

I think he's doing a pretty good job of playing himself out an extension with the Leafs.

Why would he even want to stay?

Not because of tonight, but I really hope that Bolland is not returning.  He truly is a replaceable 3rd line center on a Cup contender.  Definitely not worth to the Leafs what he think he is worth on the open market.

Because guys named David are getting 7 year contracts like they're going out of style.

Well at least Bolland has more points than Clarkson (even after missing all that time), so that's a plus.

Nonis is part of the reason why we are in it so why give him the opportunity. The team had some positives last year more so than this year. Goaltending was improved yet team has regressed. Team should have been tweaked at most and team play tightened up yet we made more changes than needed and although I didn't mind Clarkson signing I think both duration and amount were overpayment and that has limited Nonis in doing much. I won't even get into the Phaneuf signing. Both him and Carlyle should go. Some of Randy's decisions and handling of players is mind boggling. Get rid of them both.

Leiweke didn't hire him, right?  When new CEOs take over other companies they don't hesitate to clean house, especially when things are going south.

No, but, he did sign him to a 5 year extension, so, he's somewhat committed to giving him some rope.

Fair enough.

Yes but this know-it-all gave Nonis a new five year deal last summer.
