Can't wait to hear TSN on how Laine won the battle in game 2 against Matthews. What has he done besides shooting 2 pucks into the net? I'll give him credit he can score but what has he done other than that? Nothing.

I can see this getting quoted on Jets boards from now until the end of time.

Really though. I'll say it now he's a better scorer pure goal scorer but he's one dimensional. everything else I say matthews is better. In game one against the Leafs he was unnoticeable for 2 periods. Scored what I thought a lucky first goal. beautiful one timer on a nice feed on a PP and then the OT winner. Yes he had the hat trick and Auston having a chance to win it 10 seconds earlier but for the most part he was quiet. Tonights no different been quiet but capitalizes on his chances.

Well, I guess all I can say is "Brett Hull."  Not the greatest, but also not somebody anyone would turn down for their team either.

Yes you're right I wouldn't turn him down for my team either nor Laine. We can get into an argument about goal scoring and it's importance. I don't value a players value on how many goals he scores. If he's weak in all other areas what good is that. Assists are just as important to some extent. Got someone who can pass you the puck only improves your totals. Let me ask some of you this.Taking who we cheer for aside. If Laine had 50 goals and 50 points and Matthews had 100 assists and 100 points who would you take?

Kadri gets a penalty for getting jumped because Chiarot was upset he hit him last period. NHL reffing can be absolutely ridiculous this way.

The biggest problem with this team and I've said it a million times is the defensive coverage. Why good players always seem to pick up points against us because we can't cover s**t. Andersen has to be better as well. Last month he's been horrid.

Yup, two deflections, a royal road one-timer to the hottest shooter in the NHL, and a rebound in front from not getting the puck out.  Yup, Andersen is the reason we aren't winning this game.

He hasn't been stellar and I've been meaning more the last month he hasn't been sharp. Again because of the defensive coverage he has to bail us out on most nights. Tonight is an exception they have limited the shots but we are still down.

I was only half kidding.  Maybe less.

I was half kidding too at first, but man I dunno. The replay makes it look pretty intentional. Matthews had plenty of time, it was way wide, and it seemed like any shot directed at the net would have probably been blocked.

Yeah, I mean, how many times have you seen him miss the net by that much when he has plenty of time to shoot.  Like, zero.

But he'd probably never admit it even if it was on purpose.

I was beaching about Leo the other day but he has been very good tonight.  Getting elbowed in the head and then almost gets the hattrick.

Ya Iv'e been on Komarov all year but he's playing better tonight. Hasn't been the same since the injury from OV. Should have traded him when his value was up.

You can't tell me you're better off with 4 forwards on the powerplay when 1 of them is Hyman. Rielly should have been out there.
