Leafs 2014/2015 Schedule in 10 game chunks

Unfortunately if he continues to play as well as he has they are going to trade him. IMO are not going to have enough cap space to sign him unless someone like Lupul and Gardiner are moved.

Without trading anybody the Leafs will have room for 2 of Bernier, Kadri, and Franson. So if push comes to shove they'll let Franson walk before trading Kadri.

There is a fair bit more then just those three to re-sign.

I think the first few months have provided some helpful looks at ways they can hopefully prevent the possession and chances against from completely tanking - one of which would be to give Kadri a bigger role at evens.

Yup. I'm certainly no Randy fan but if he continues to play Kadri like the 1C at least at even-strength he'll earn some points from me. Will be really interesting to see how that works on the road.

Just to come full circle on the discussion, here's today's Mirtle on some reasons the Leafs are better than last season: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/hockey/leafs-beat/five-reasons-the-maple-leafs-are-legitimately-better/article22137438/

Classic Mirtle, can't think of more than 5 nice things to say about the team.

Those 3 (well 2 of them) will get priority though.

It's a shame we might lose top flight talent because we spent our cap room on other priorities.

I don't know but the way TO has treated Franson over the past few years, I could see him leaving on his own.

We already knew the Leafs can beat good teams like the Ducks. It's the next two games against the Canes and Flyers that I'm interested to see. If the Leafs can put those two to bed I'll be thoroughly impressed.

I AM NOT IMPRESSED

I hate losses like that.  It was so predictable too after winning 6 in a row.  I realize they have to lose at some point, but to lose to one of the worst teams in the league, just not cool.

draglikepull: People ask why I care so much about TOR's Corsi. Here's the result for every team w/ CF% <46% in an 82 game season. http://t.co/IR6znk3LnA

It's also worth mentioning that the Anaheim and Colorado teams that made the playoffs bottomed out the next season. The 07-08 Pens made it to the Cup Finals on the strength of their offence and Fleury's only really good playoff run, and are a pretty serious outlier.

Oh look, Carlyle's last two 82 game seasons and this season on there.  '12-'13 would be too if it included the lockout season.  When he was fired from Anaheim theirs was 46.5%

The sad thing is I'm not even surprised.  Was fully expecting a crash after that long winning streak.  Life of a Leafs fan.
