Leafs @ Devils - Dec. 27th, 7:00pm - SNO, TSN 1050

https://twitter.com/davidnestico200/status/1210722987646713856

Willy retrieves the puck and plays keep away to open up space for reloading the attack, pulling the defensive structure to flex open for Mikheyev to go against the grain.

Both Nylander and Mikheyev are nominally playing on their offwings

I must say, the Leafs seem to be more competent under this youngster Keefe.
No panic. Stick with the plan. Totally different mindset.

Well, actually riding Matthews was a good idea that even boobs like me could have devised.  But credit to Keefe for getting the whole Throw the Defense into Complete Chaos line of strategy off the ground.

Hyman has a certain style that seems to fit really well on either of the top lines...he's relentless down low and then as soon as he retrieves the puck he gets it to one of his skilled line-mates and immediately high-tails it to the net which usually pulls someone with him and wreaks havoc there, giving the other guys a bit more room and taking away the goalie's eyes. Brown was like that too...as is Johnsson and Moore. They don't have a ton of skill but make up for it with the lunch pail.

What's that got to do with eels?

Tavares is going to really like playing with Nylander. He generates so many second, third, fourth opportunities and zone time. Tavares is not much of a mover himself but is fantastic in one-on-ones and making something from nearly nothing.

Holl got beat by Palmieri on a rish and got beat there too.

Muzzin got walked on that zone entry that led to the goal

I'm referring to Holl losing the puck battle behind the goal that allowed the feed to Hischier.
Better that he make those mistakes and learn from them now. It's easy to forget how little NHL experience he has so there's going to be some blips along the way.

Not sure what we are expecting Holl to be able to accomplish here.
