At this point, it's really hard to name one thing that David Clarkson does well on a hockey rink.

God that's so sad.

Fall over. Look useless. Collect paycheques. All things he does well.

And yet he still largely escapes any criticism from the MSM.  You heard about the Komisarek/Finger anchor contracts on a daily basis.

OK then, we agree.

Ok, honest question here. For this season only, would you rather see the Leafs play a solid possession game but miss the playoffs or keep playing that Carlyle-style and sneak in (and like you agreed, almost certainly not win the Stanley Cup)? That's the process vs. results debate in a nutshell.

Bruce Arthur was one of the ones on Twitter defending Dave Feschuk to anyone who would criticize Feschuk about his questioning of Kessel being cool, just asking 'tough questions' etc.  Has anyone in the media harshly questioned any Leafs management about Clarkson?  Has any media member harshly questioned Clarkson like Kessel?

Oh FFS.  Santorelli robbed and then a weak penalty call on Winnik....weak as in that is what San Jose has done all night.

Why would you even suggest, even hypothetically, that I would want them to play like they did under Carlyle?  Did I somehow fail to make my dislike for Carlyle clear enough?

I've also said numerous times that I like Horachek and have never said that they shouldn't be playing the system he's trying to institute.  I am on the same page as all you guys.

Where some of us differ is in roster management and what we think the proper future course is.  I want to blow it up.  Others don't.  That's what I want for this season.  The sooner the better.

My beef is with being obsessed with possession stats to the point of being blind to everything else.

Jake Gardiner: 62% possession tonight. No Gardiner: 38%.

Looked completely lost on the 1st goal, but aside from that he's been very good tonight.

Santorelli, Reimer and Gardiner have been the best three players for the Leafs.

Definitely. Reimer's my MOTM. Have been flip-flopping between Santo and Gardiner for the HM, but I'm leaning towards Gardiner.

He's starting to skate and look like playoff-Gardiner.

It's weird. It's almost like someone is encouraging Rielly and Gardiner to skate in the last few games.  I don't know why.

I don't think that's true. Certainly not in any sort of structured sense like where they were asking those guys questions or writing articles about them specifically.

There's just only so many times you can write "he's bad". I know repeating the same things over and over and over on this board seems all the rage with some but it's fairly hard to move newspapers that way.

Crap off.

Reimer deserved a better fate than being hung with a loss. He was excellent.

This was the type of game you hoped Kessel or JvR would come through with a big goal. They need to shake out of their funks fast.

Alright. Time to start shipping out the pending UFAs. Only 5 points out, but, the Rangers also have 4 games in hand. The Leafs are further out of it than the standings make it appear.
