Lightning @ Leafs - Dec. 8th, 7:30pm - Prime

Who needs Stolarz...we have Stolarz at home (Hildeby).

Last year Hildeby had a win where he looked dreadful but kept making horseshoe saves with terrible positioning. Goaltending confidence can be lost out of nowhere but he really doesn't look like he's making fluke saves right now. He's just using his massive frame and he's athletic so he can get across the net when he needs to. This is all about positioning and that is seriously exciting.

It’s a shame they wasted a couple of potential Hildeby starts (and possibly undeserved points) playing that guy they got off waivers whose name I can’t even remember now.

(Was it Primeau?)

Probably 2 games for reckless stick work; notably nothing for Goncalves knee-on-knee that actually injured Mermis beyond the game misconduct because that was in the course of a hockey play?

This is how the league tends to handle these things: you can attempt murder if it was part of going for the puck, but you will definitely be suspended for defending your teammates after if you touch their head area with anything other than fists.

I will say, the refs (some of the worst ones) handled it well and kept the game from getting out of hand after that. Missed a high stick to Matthews' face in the third because he didn't act like he got shot though.

Primeau won 2 of his 3 starts so while he sucked, especially in his last game, he won. They also didn't know how long Woll was going to be out at the time so Woll wasn't put on LTIR right away so they didn't have the space to bring Beast up. They also wanted him to play and not sit on the bench.

McMann tomahawked a guy in the head that actually had nothing to do with the hit on Mermis. So he isn't defending anyone but himself. It was a poor decision regardless of anything.
