Oilers @ Maple Leafs - Nov. 16th, 7:00pm - SN, TSN 1050

The onus was on Reaves not to put his shoulder into Nurse's head. He sees Nurse and has plenty of time to not hit him like that. He'll get a suspension from this, well deserved. Terrible hit
Its kind of amusing that it always seems to be "have your head up and that doesn't happen". The hitting player is the one making the contact. How about idiots don't make contact with vulnerable heads.

It's actually the truth, amusing or not. If Nurse has his head up, it doesn't happen. That's undeniable. And nobody is excusing Reaves and blaming Nurse. It's on Reaves not to hit him in the head.

Maybe it's time to give Nylander a serious look at center. Or maybe Minten is ready for a few games. Domi just not capable right now for whatever reason.

My thought too. Bring in Minten for the Weds game and let Domi rest up or whatever.

Minten has played 3 AHL games...leave him alone for now.

Normally I'd agree but the guy did play a few NHL games last year and might well have made the team this year if not for the injury. I think it's worth considering.

Edit to add - probably depends on Matthews and whether he is really going to be back soon. If so they can probably wait it out with Steeves as a stop gap. But if he's still a ways off (which I bet is the case) they might need to do something. Team as it is can't generate much offense.

Minten was really outmatched in the regular season last year and looked clearly not ready. He had a fine WHL season but really didn't set the world on fire and then had a high ankle sprain. I like that he has 3 points in 3 games in the AHL so far but I think it's better for his development to be a mid-season callup, not a guy in November.

I would rather they just play Nylander up the middle for one game than call him up if you want to give Domi a night off.

Nobody here will argue that point.
Someone argued against me last year about that. Said you dont need a shot on the PP just get it through. I call BS. If you have someone there like a Bouchard who can rifle it it gives the PK another thing to worry about. With Reilly back there, there is no fear of a shot 90% of the time he just dishes it off. So predictable.
