Playoffs Round 1: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Boston Bruins

I really hope we can beat the Bruins, but like others I am not ate up about it. I think with the work Brad T has done is embrace building a big effective D. That is the next step, personally I think our real window will opens next year and runs for quite a while. We need Woll to step up to his earlier play and bring in the Wildebeast next year as well. I think that could be a real goaltending duo for our future.

In the meantime I hope the guys surprise me and give us all a good ride into the playoffs.

There's reason to believe that Robertson or Jarnkrok (if he's not fully cleared) are placeholders for Nylander. We'll have to wait and see though.

Brodie looks to be a scratch for game 1. McMann remains out with his injury.

Really hoping Nylander plays. Man that'd be crazy if he played on TB and got injured.
Just checked his ice time that game, it was 17 minutes. Hopefully just a maintenance day.

Any chance keeping Nylander away from practice was done so Boston doesn't get the Leafs lineup strategy before game 1? Realistically Nylander is the biggest piece that is most likely to move around, whether it be on line 2 or driving line 3.

My Leafs Playoff Wishlist:

- Win a series in less than 7 games
- Eliminate 2 recent years nemesis
- Avenge the Conference Finals against Carolina
- Develop that killer instinct when you are up 3-x on a series you close it next game with a shutout.
- A new forward, out of nowhere, is a scoring threat (Bertuzzi, McMann)
- Hot goalie streak for the Leafs
- Killing power play that teams will be afraid to aggressive play the Leafs
- Perfect PK in a series or 2.
- a Leaf Goalie still a series
- win 4 series

I am not asking too much.

Go Leafs Go!!!

That ice time was a little down below normal for a couple of games
Probably been nursing something. Maybe longer with only 4pts in his last 10 games

Certainly not the start we hoped for. My thinking is this: Even if they get swept by the Bruins, the future still looks pretty bright?if Treliving is able to make the right moves.

1 more year and the Tavares contract comes off the books. Hopefully the cap keeps climbing as well. We have Minten and Cowan coming up the ranks.

I?d still keep Marner (but options are available), and with the extra cap room, find a goaltender (if Woll isn?t the guy) and some top pairing D-men.

I?ve always said this team is way too front loaded for playoff hockey . Thankfully we should have options to alter the balance of the team in the next season or 2.

An extra $22M+ after next season will be extra nice.

I doubt Marner is going anywhere but we'llsee how the playoffs go.

According to multiple sources, William Nylander?s absence from the Toronto lineup has to do with a migraine so severe that team doctors tested to see if he suffered a concussion. One of the reasons for the secrecy around his situation is that an actual diagnosis has been hard to come by, whether it is a migraine, a concussion or something else that could affect that area.

That secrecy led to wild speculation ? even by Toronto standards ? as to why Nylander missed the first three games of the Boston series. It's believed Nylander first indicated an issue Thursday, the day after the Maple Leafs ended their regular season in Tampa Bay. He played all 82 games in 2023-24.

In September 2022, Nylander told reporters he switched to a tinted visor because of migraines he?d suffered the previous season.

This is a real concern, I hope he has had brain cat scans to make sure there is no leakage.
