I appreciate your optimism, GT. I do. It's easy to complain when they play like this. But my take going into the playoffs is still my take: they need the goalies to play lights out to overcome the Matthews injury deficit.

It could be better. But Woll is up I think. The bigger issue is scoring. Stolarz let in two goals, not the end of the world if your team can score, which the Leafs should be able to.

Couple of things here:

Berube pulled Stolarz with the 1st line on the ice for over 1:30s, they were out of gas.
Something needs to change, either Woll in or something else.
Pacioretty is waisting a roster spot now (one good hit tonight)

Leafs need to do something different, this should have being a sweep and now the game 7 ghost is closing in. Bright side is that Ottawa never won a series against Toronto, so hopefully this can stay like this.

I'm not convinced that Woll would be any better.

Woll in his short playoff career hasn't let in a weak goal. 4 of the last 6 have an odour on them for Stolarz. All stoppable shots. GM3, 3rd period floater. 2 in GM 4 and the first tonight were not good. I'm not laying it on him but he needs to be better. I don't think Berube goes with Woll.

Now you’re blaming Stolarz. Ya he got outplayed but it’s up to your stars to score when it counts and they don’t and quit making excuses for injuries. Matthews with a dumb play to seal it on the PP. Non existent along with 16 and 88 all night. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again and someone stated it earlier McD and Drai bring it when they need to. Our stars seem to disappear and it’s not just this post season.

Me neither. Stolarz was not the problem tonight, it was the usual elimination-game issues - no scoring. However, sometimes a change is worth a shot.

Probably not but Stolarz needs the mental break. I think it was here early on that someone said he can't play them all - they were right. Tonight would have been the time to give Stolarz a rest. Oh well, hind sight, etc. etc.

Sad part of this team is it’s going to get worse thanks to giving away the farm all these years for absolutely nothing. Our farm system sucks and few draft picks. I can honestly see us not making the playoffs in the not too distant future.
